Re: Kelly poll
My preferred option would be use pick 7 and next years first so we still have a first this year.

Sigh... You can dream about all the implausible/impossible scenarios you like, but Kelly is a prime target for several clubs, and - in the seemingly unlikely event that we can get him - we would potentially need to give up a lot, including good players off our current list. If were to end up getting Kelly for just our two first round picks and having to pay only $1.2 m, that will be a tremendous deal for us.diddley wrote:Agreed. +1quirky84 wrote:My preferred option would be use pick 7 and next years first so we still have a first this year.

Re: Kelly poll
Exactly Sainternist GWS wouldn't take that deal. They need a premiership this or next year. Our 2018 first round draft pick will be too late (time wise)

Re: Kelly poll
Why the rush for them? Their best players are mostly in the 22-27 age bracket with a few future stars under 22 and some role players older than 27. They are well set to keep on contending for the next decade and beyond providing they keep on replacing any stars who leave with more first round draft picks.Goose is king wrote:Exactly Sainternist GWS wouldn't take that deal. GWS have been very good with their list strategy. However they cannot sustain this strategy for ever.
Crunchtime will hit when they start getting batches of players who start hitting FA. They then cannot insist on trades, and they will not have the $$$ to match offers.

Correct. Also some of their most important players are getting older like Shaw and Mumford, they need a premiership in the next two years or they are gone
