Who cares?????
If you think that that us finishing 11th means we are a top two side you are dumber than I thought.
Melbourne (9th) beat us TWICE.
Essendon (8th) beat us easily.
Swans, Cats and Crows all beat us easily and all are still alive on one side of the draw.
So seriously who gives two s***s. The Tigers absolutely shat on us when it mattered.
Enlighten me how we finished 11th and how that is makes us top 2. It is a moronic tidbit.

It is just a tidbit, not a claim that we're a top two side. But if it makes you feel better, go ahead and believe that.

Re: Finals discussion thread
Got home from work in time to see the draw then ET. Loved it as I have a soft spot for eagles as my kin plays for them. Loved seeing the bogans lose and their crowd shut up. Absolute gold! And the free was genuine too, clumsy tackle by a knob! Go all the way Wet Toast!! Though my dad and a few mates follow the tiges so its looking good lol.

Michael Hutchence died due to auto erotic asphyxiation, according to reports. That's when you hang or choke yourself to the point of unconsciousness in order to heighten the effect of orgasm. Alas, many people die doing this as they go too far. So I'm told by a friend..............minneapolis wrote:Please explain. Re: Finals discussion thread
It's a pity both teams could not lose.
Interesting after we lost the match against them with a very goog set play that we failed to negotiate, they fell by failing to defend properly according to Hinckley
Some sort of Karma, also no surprise the high free was done by the shrugging the shoulders trick.
Though I dislike Port, my old ex neighbor Port Champion "Chicken" Neville Hayes would not be very happy,

Re: Finals discussion thread
Thanks Kosi. Always happy to read these tidbits. As has been noted, it does not change the fact that we are the 11th best team. However if you plotted the performances of all teams all season on a Venn diagram ( although probably a linear rather than two-dimensional plotting is more apt ), your observation means that our circle of output overlaps with each of GWS, Tigers and West Coast. Our best is better than their worst. There have been plenty of years over the journey where that has not been the case. This is a much more even competition, which gives just a little hope over what might otherwise be a long long off-season.kosifantutti wrote:A team we beat will play in the Grand Final.
I still get some modicum of enjoyment from the fact that in 1995, we were one of only two teams to beat the rampaging Blues. " We beat the premiers - easily ". Just has a nice ring to it. Perhaps it is the refuge of the underperforming, but if one of those teams we beat go on to win the whole thing, it might prevent me from walking around in sackcloth and ashes all summer. That, and the fact that our cricket team just drew with the might of Bangladesh.
