Surely there's some solid intelligent ex football players with excellent analysis skills!?!?!?
When I listen to SEN in the morning ( much less frequently than I used to), and I hear G Lyon speak....it makes me feel depressed.
No wonder their numbers suck.

G.Lyon. His dad won first division tattslotto twice. His son has never done a day's real work in his life. Good footballer, but that's about all. Not the sharpest knife in the draw and has no idea what the average person struggles with. It shows. I'm afraid he's a bit of a narcissistic corkhead. Rarely says anything that resonates in a positive way. Prefer others.

Re: Stringer
Nope.
We want him. We want him a lot.
58 goals in 2015. All Australian. Played a lesser part in a premiership team in 2016 and was far from horrendous on the day.
Had a breakup with his partner and issues with the kids which a lot are saying messed him up a bit between the ears, which HAPPENS.
So much upside. SO MUCH UPSIDE.
This guy is a match winner. Proven match winner.
If he can get his head right, no matter where he goes he will be a gun.
If he ends up at essendon, carlton or hawthorn I will spew up.

2020 was an aberration, when we travelled twice to Adelaide and won both, beat Tigers early, beat our bogey Swans. 2021 we've returned to our old ways. Damn

Re: Stringer
Stringer is a better version of Petracca.
Is on the the market.
While there is some risk after a so so last two years the plus is that IF you can get Stringer to pick us that the Dogs are not in a strong bargaining position and so will come at a discount. Not a ridiculous discount but at less than he is worth. ie Think of the Hawks last year with Tom Mitchell.
Geelong know value and are after him.
Do we want to stay outside the 8 permanently, or do we want to have a crack by bring in quality players that we do not have and which our strategic plan has us landing now. there are not a lot of players that are gettable, that could make a big difference to our current list. Stringer is one, as is Kelly, Whitfield, Gaff.
If Kelly is off the table, then a Whitfield and Stringer combination, perhaps topped off with a FA like Trengove (ie a nice player that fills a need rather than a class player) would do me nicely taken during this trade/draft period.

Re: Stringer
Stringer apparently has discipline issues
Gets to training late, doesn't work hard enough
Has little forward pressure
Won't chase
Expects ball to come to him

I remember in Year 12 maths, we were told during a class on statistics, that if you won Div 1 once, you had a much better chance of winning again, than other folks.SuperSaint wrote:Imagine the odds on that?MickThomas wrote:I had no idea Lyon Senior had won tattslotto twice.GregPackhamsHeadband wrote:G.Lyon. It could happen 15 years later, or 15 weeks later, but yes, for some weird reason, the odds get slightly better.

What do you mean by 'better chance'?
Better odds than what?
I assume you mean someone who won once is more likely to win twice because they continue to buy tickets? So more likely than someone in the street who probably doesnt buy any tickets at all.
