Stringer
I saw Gary Lyon suggesting that the Dogs trade out Stringer on AFL.com.au
While I understand that is simply one man's opinion, does anyone think that there would be interest in the Saints having a crack? We have the right tools to get it done, but would it be good value to do so?
Thoughts?

Re: Stringer
Too inconsistent = unreliable.
Let Carlton or the McGuires have him.

How many defenders will The Saints pick in the 2024 draft ?

Re: Stringer
A few bursts out of the square from time to time. I think he could be a decent x factor player. If we were to ever grab him, now is the time. Stocks would be the lowest that they have ever been, with massive upside if he turns it around.

Re: Stringer
He has that x factor but he's gravy .
If you've got the full complete meal he's essential.
We currently need a bit more meat some good wine .
We're ok for vegetables, just need them to stay fresher longer . Perhaps new facilities will help this.

I think our problem is we have too many vegetables. Especially spuds and turnips.mr six o'clock wrote:He has that x factor but he's gravy .

Re: Stringer
Fkn harsh call by Lyon to dump Stringer after just one ordinary season.
Sounds like he's projecting. The dude must have a few issues.

I would take a look. He was the difference kicking 5 goals when he played us this year.

Re: Stringer
Garry Lyon should be delisted. He is now irrelevant.
In Springfield, they're eating the dogs. The people that came in, they're eating the cats. They’re eating – they are eating the pets of the people that live there.

Re: Stringer
Everyone kicks 5 goals against us - look at the 2nd gamer from Richmond on Carlisle the other week. That shouldn't be the basis of picking someone if they only play good against us.Rocket wrote:I would take a look. He was the difference kicking 5 goals when he played us this year.

Stringer is a bum. Tim Membrey has actually developed into far better player.

Re: Stringer
In my original post "is Members the the new Jake Stringer " I was shouted down , the post called ridiculas etc. I followed up with posts that showed Members had better stats and was actually a better player than Stringer was at the same stage of their carrearsSainternist wrote:Stringer is a bum. if I recall I also called out that Stringer was big headed and not well liked at his club,
I've seen nothing of Stringer since to change my mind, he won't chase or work hard both ways . He chases cheap goals, Members will end up a much better player, he is a better player already imo
It shows the power of the media when Stringers glowing praises from that idiot Brian Taylor managed to create a star out of a flashy lazy just above average player....
There's a good reason they have both agreed to part ways
I guess you would deduce... A big no for me
And the president said " I did not have sex with that woman"
And our former president said " Football is like golf"
Go Sainters !!!!!

Re: Stringer
According to Brian Speaking we're into Stringer. Have been for some time.
Would bring much needed X factor, but has had a few injuries lately. If he hits form he's worth a first rounder imo. Not reliable enough?

Re: Stringer
Would be a super get.
He would finish our forward line and would mean gresh could play midfield
He had elite talent
As a club we need to have confidence that we can develop this talent
Richo would be a much better mentror/role model than Buckley it bolton
Def worth a 3 year deal
Stringer for Hickey and our future 2nd pick.

Re: Stringer
He hasn't looked fit this year, maybe he came back under done like Libba.
Can play and would walk into our 22, but would need to be able to go through the midfield to make him really appealing for us

Re: Stringer
He is scared. I know that's a big call but watch him closely. He's not prepared to back back for the ball or stand under it. He also goes for the ball one handed. If there's a wrestle or push and shove he has no intensity or passion in his eyes.
He's great if you want someone to take the odd speccy or kick a 60m goal. But in big games he will go missing. He's had more than one bad year - last year after Rd12 he was awful. Clubs don't offload 23 yr olds 1st rounders who have won Rising Stars awards and are AA's if there's some major issues. I would be very very reluctant if I was the Saints. I know he has incredible talent but he has lost the plot.
