Re: Dylan Roberton

A source from the Hawks. They have offered him 700k per year x3, which is way above what we've offered. I'd say that's what's causing the delay. He must be tempted by an offer like that. A young dad with three kids has a chance to set himself and his family up for life. The longer it goes, the more it starts to worry me. It is a very tempting offer. He might never get the chance again.
Oh, this is not good news, if true. Sounds quite plausible to me. Can't help to feel that he'd have his sights set on donning the Poos&Wees Brigade now. What a bloody shame that would be
Would be a massive loss and your correct it sounds plausible as hawthorn are very aggressive with trading

What did he mean by that? That we're looking to offload him?Gershwin wrote:I just asked Ricky Nixon about it on twitter and his reply was "move him if they can".
Man, I hate Hawthorn sometimes. Well, at least we have their first round pick.Goose is king wrote:Would be a massive loss and your correct it sounds plausible as hawthorn are very aggressive with trading

Re: Dylan Roberton
Does this mean if we trade him we get their first pick next year?

This would be crazy as Robbo was one of our best players this year.Sainternist wrote:What did he mean by that? That we're looking to offload him?Gershwin wrote:I just asked Ricky Nixon about it on twitter and his reply was "move him if they can".

My question was "Anything going on with Roberton from St Kilda? Uncontracted."Sainternist wrote:What did he mean by that? That we're looking to offload him?Gershwin wrote:I just asked Ricky Nixon about it on twitter and his reply was "move him if they can".

Sounds like negotiations are not going well and we are looking for a trade.

Re: Dylan Roberton
How could the Hawks get a trade done, we already have their first pick… their first pick in the draft is #32 before compo's are added in.
They barely have any players of trade value either.

Pay him what he wants.

If this is the case, I hope we fleece them like we did in last year's trade period.Gershwin wrote:My question was "Anything going on with Roberton from St Kilda? He was close to AA this year so would have to be worth more than #32 -we would want their next years first pick.dragit wrote:How could the Hawks get a trade done, we already have their first pick… their first pick in the draft is #32 before compo's are added in.

Re: Dylan Roberton
Hawks were desperate to land JOM and so paid overs for our draft pick. They would not be that generous for Dylan.Sainternist wrote:If this is the case, I hope we fleece them like we did in last year's trade period.Gershwin wrote:My question was "Anything going on with Roberton from St Kilda? Believe he changed managers during the season which caused delays. Be amazed if not done very soon from what I've heard. Hadn't heard anything Hawks related!

Re: Dylan Roberton
Someone asked Toot Toot "why trade robbo?"
Nixon on Twitter: Can't Trade fresh air you need to trade quality to get quality

2020 was an aberration, when we travelled twice to Adelaide and won both, beat Tigers early, beat our bogey Swans. 2021 we've returned to our old ways. Damn

Its true though. If we are targeting something big then we have to lose something decent.MickThomas wrote:Someone asked Toot Toot "why trade robbo?"

Will Hawks play hardball and offer 2 fringe players?Gershwin wrote:Its true though. If we are targeting something big then we have to lose something decent.MickThomas wrote:Someone asked Toot Toot "why trade robbo?"

Or will the Saints insist on Burton or Shoenmakers?
If they can't agree on a trade, do we lose Robbo and just get a compensation pick and nothing else?
Great. We get a 17 year old who won't be a regular defender until about 2021

Apparently his status is out of contract non-free agent.longtimesaint wrote:Is Robbo a free agent?

Re: Dylan Roberton
I just checked and the only free agents we had this year were Roo, Joey and Gilbo.
Therefore Hawthorn or anyone else would need to trade with us unless he wants to nominate for the pre season draft.
That is very unlikely as Brisbane and Gold Coast have the first two picks

Re: Dylan Roberton
Let's hope the club can satisfy Robbo. It's typical of bloody Hawthorn. They won't be down for long.
I think you're pretty tough, don't I?

Re: Dylan Roberton
It's pretty f****** cheeky considering they have no picks to offer up... they're probably just trying to drive his price up to get back at us for stitching them up.
However you do have to wonder why we have players like wright & minchington contracted for next year plus Lewie pierce going into his 7th year and not have Roberton sorted.

Question: "Clarkson has rebuilt rapidly - so how does Roberton get to Hawks?"
