Hayes & Kelly
Lenny is being touted as an up and coming coach.
To get him back as an assistant coach would be great.
And the kicker is his close working relationship with one Josh Kelly.
It would be a massive coup if we could pull that off.

Re: Hayes & Kelly
I must admit that the old heart says get Lenny back here with us, but my head says there 's just no way that he'll be leaving the GWS Giants any time soon, not with that list, and the potential for multiple premierships. It's exactly the same story for Josh Kelly; in my humble opinion, Josh would be a mug to leave a club (and list) that are on the cusp of achieving something massive, for perhaps another two-three years of " development " at St Kilda. Don't get me wrong, IF Kelly has a brain fade and does join us, no one will be happier than me. Just can't see it happening I'm afraid.

Re: Hayes & Kelly
There's no glory in winning premierships at a completely fabricated Frankenstein 'club' with zero supporter base.
Just like Brisbane and Sydneys flags with a completely different salary cap to their opponents, those years should just be considered null and void.
The sooner GWS can collect their AFL approved cups the better, then they can shrink back into the hole of irrelevancy.

Re: Hayes & Kelly
Its looking more and more likely by the day Kelly will re-sign with GWS. No big dog for the Saints this year unless there is a plan for a player we have no idea about yet.

I reckon this is why GWS will struggle to make a GF. Talent to burn but not enough history or spirit.dragit wrote:There's no glory in winning premierships at a completely fabricated Frankenstein 'club' with zero supporter base.

If Kelly is wise he'll see that.

Re: Hayes & Kelly
The Saints just need to get it done… we could afford to front load 2 mil for the next couple of years so should be able to entice him.
Who cares if we ended up over-paying slightly, the club desperately needs a star & definitely need elite midfielders.
Picks 7 & 8 are at least 3-4 years away from hitting their straps, that's if they come on and our current best player will be finished by then.
Love Lenny, but let him do a proper apprenticeship before luring him back.

They only missed a GF by a goal last year, and they'll have learnt from that. Sorry mate you're WAY off there.Waltzing St Kilda wrote:I reckon this is why GWS will struggle to make a GF. GWS have WAY more chance of making a GF in 2018 than the SaintsWaltzing St Kilda wrote:I reckon this is why GWS will struggle to make a GF. It'd be nice to be on the good end of a big coup for a change.

Re: Hayes & Kelly
Given your past and I assume current relationship with Lenny then that is a reliable source. So Kelly is gone. Thanks for making a valuable contribution to the forum. It is worth turning a blind eye.Ellaandjohn wrote:Lenny is staying at gws for 2 more years. Kelly is staying for the same time. Will be announced shortly

St Kilda + J Kelly = Premiership window
He'd be a mug not to see that side of it!

P.S. Would be fantastic to lure Lenny back to Moorabbin. Liam Pickering can go jump in disease ridden lake!

Oh boy wowee, if this is true, then making it public wouldn't do much for these "ongoing disputes" that we are apparently trying to stamp out.Myron Gaines wrote:Plugger66 returnsBackFromUSA wrote:Given your past and I assume current relationship with Lenny then that is a reliable source. I wouldn't care how we did it, just give me a flag, manufactured, plastic or any way you want it.
I think you're pretty tough, don't I?

Maybe the AFL should give clubs help commensurate with the last time they won a flag.GregPackhamsHeadband wrote:I wouldn't care how we did it, just give me a flag, manufactured, plastic or any way you want it.
As ex-president Peter Summers said:
“If we are going to be a contender, we may as well plan to win the bloody thing.”
