It Could Be Worse...
We could be Melbourne supporters. Looks like the Range Roving brigade with be hitting the Bulla slopes next weekend.
It has been eleven years, followed by a double (or triple) rebuild, but apparently they are far better set up for a chance at a premiership than St.Kilda!!!

I don't. I encountered a number of their supporters being cocksure of how much better they were than us a couple of weeks ago. FFS, if not seeing 11 years of finals won't humble a supporter, nothing will.Joe Bloggs wrote:I feel really sorry for Melbourne ...lol

They still finished 4 points in front of us, their % was almost 10% better and beat us twice comfortably.

Re: It Could Be Worse...
But what a phenomenal choke! How do they lose to the Filth in the last round and put a finals birth for their first time in over a decade in jeopardy like that? Only a club that is an absolute basket-case does that. Some wounds can be difficult to heal.saintsRrising wrote:I would not laugh too hard.Sainternist wrote:We could be Melbourne supporters. A superior percentage and an extra win means absolutely bugger all if you end up not even making the 8!

Re: It Could Be Worse...
And Petracca was terrible in the last q. Only 3 possessions. Is he a down hill skier??
I want to stand for something. I'm a loyal person and I think at the end of my career it will be great to look back and know that I'm a St Kilda person for life.

Which is 4 points and 10% of S.F.A. when it is all said and done. Although I was resigned to the Saints missing the finals (and whe aren't ready yet) I am delighted the pumped-up Demons can rightly claim their season to be a disappointment. As a matter of fact, I am just about to rip the top of another stubby; so disappointed for them!saintsRrising wrote:I would not laugh too hard.Sainternist wrote:We could be Melbourne supporters. I feel bad that I feel so happy that they missed out. I hate the Weagles. But that was far preferable in the end.

The Demons? More like the dream-ons!
As ex-president Peter Summers said:

Re: It Could Be Worse...
Nothing wrong with a bit of Schadenfreude, SF. Especially where the cocksure downhill skiers are involved. I wonder how Theo X is feeling? He must still be throwing up. Ninth would have to be the worst position to finish of all. Just missed, so no reward. We may have finished just below them, but all that means is we have better draft picks than they do. Mmmmm.....".what.......eh. Time for a bit of a cold shower, some discipline and a bit of Rule 303 for the Dee's........And that Barassi's a terrible coach, mm....what, eh, old c**k old bowe old bean!SemperFidelis wrote:I feel bad that I feel so happy that they missed out. Said no one ever. Barracked harder for WC today than I did for the Saints. Lol, Adelaide were going half pace. And the AFL were just looking like the Knights King from game of thrones overlooking everything.Joe Bloggs wrote:I feel really sorry for Melbourne ...lol
I was so glad Melbourne missed out. What did Roos have to say.
We are a good season behind Melbourne and they had an easier draw than us. I was so happy they missed finals

It could be worse... Roo could be playing for Richmond next year.

On Sunday, former Tiger Nathan Brown said Richmond asked whether Riewoldt would be keen to join his cousin, Jack, at Punt Rd next season.
Brown said on Triple M the offer was “turned down”.
A smiling Nick Riewoldt did not deny an approach was made, but said he was content to finish up his glittering 335-game career.
The six-time club best-and-fairest and five-time All-Australian is widely considered one of St Kilda’s greatest players.
“It would want to be pretty compelling, wouldn’t it?” Riewoldt said of the opportunity to swap clubs.
“I’m pretty happy sitting here right now as a retired player.”
Brown said the Tigers were interested in Riewoldt.
“Don’t be surprised if there was a phone call made from Richmond inquiring about Nick Riewoldt next year, which might have been turned down,” Brown said.

Our club wanted and needed Roo to move on so the younger players could get their arses into gear and step up.
Richmond would've taken a decent risk playing Roo next year but if t worked out good luck to them and Roo. At least the cousins would've had a year together.
