Personally I'm happy with having a very even list with quite a few potential elites on it - Billings, Gresham, Dunstan, Acres, Sinclair, Ross. Carlisle. Even Membrey. Steven if he can get back to his best.
Not real keen on paying overs for some "messiah" who totally screws the pay scale and leaves us just a knee reconstruction away from disaster.
If we can attract a gun for a reasonable price that doesn't put too many eggs in one basket, all well and good. But with caution, please

I'm interested to know how you can substantiate your assertion that Dunstan has greater determination or character than the other players mentioned. Do you know them? I think Sincs has shown great character and perseverance to work hard to get back into the side and maintain his position. Similarly, the determination of our champ, Jack Billings, to constantly improve and to not only meet but go beyond his own high standards, shows great character. His belief in himself is admirable, imo.

but to be serious - everything i have seen and heard from dunstan and all those around him at this club and earlier in his career in sa have said the same thing about him. the coach can't speak highly enough of the lad's character, and lenny himself chose dunstan to wear his number.

We have no leadership now with Roo virtually gone. The next Club champ has not played a game yet. Thanks Lyin, its a dire situation you have left us with.

Steven
Ross
Carlisle
Billings
I think our future greats will come from
Steele
Sinclair
Gresham
We are lucky to have support from players like
Acres
Longer
Dunstan
Newnes
Webster
If our bookends - Hugh and Clunk stop getting injured, and Freeman, we are on our way to the top IMO.
Our kids are looking good. We will have more than 1 great from the current crop IMO.
Fair calls...
...until the last bit.
Hugh and Clunk are NOT. I repeat NOT 'bookends' - except in a fantasy world.
They are entirely unproven at this point in time.
If a player is a gun and THEN gets injured. Fair call.
They have shown zero and then got injured.
So way too early to be calling them 'bookends' at this stage.
Maybe they will come good - but maybe the 2017 draft players will come good.
Complete unknowns.

Really?
Clunk has had 9 marks or more 3 times in his injured career. Hipwood has never passed 5 marks. The million dollar man Tom Boyd has never done it. Moore has done it 4 times but he is being talked about as the new million dollar man. And you don't think Clunk has shown potential lol.
The bookends are real if they can get over getting injured. They are very good footballers.
