Re: Saints Back in for Dusty
Prediction...Saints will get diddly squat regarding a big dog this upcoming trade period other than maybe 1 or 2 good footballers e.g. a Lachie Whitfield. We will use at least one of our top 10 picks on a quick skilled mid in the draft and trade out the other top 10 pick for a player that also involves some swaps of picks.

Probably right and I hope you're right. As things are shaping up there may not even be a big name available.

Re: Saints Back in for Dusty
I personally would prefer Kelly to Dusty - better fits our age demographic.

I'd prefer Kelly over Dusty too but I think I'd prefer Dusty, pick 7 and 9 than Kelly

These types of selections are what our Recruiters get paid for. Let's hope that they are good enough to get a top-notch name in, but I am not confident. Apart from Carlisle, their overall track record is not great.

We do have a first rounder next year though. But the ITKs are lusting after next years draft.

We were either always after him or not.
Do you really think that a gun player like a Kelly or a Martin would be at all impressed that we only want them after another gun knocked us back?
Guns like either of them you have to chase all year, or even longer.

Not sure why anyone would take anything Brian Waldron says at all seriously. This is the guy who cost the Storm premierships by rorting the NRL cap. We should consider ourselves lucky he didn't ruin our club when he was our CEO.

Which filing cabinet was Brian looking in when he made that claim?

Re: Saints Back in for Dusty
Waldron says we want Dusty.
Brad Hardie said a few weeks back, that Lyon's reps rang the Filth.
Barrett said Dempster was unhappy at the Saints with not being picked.
Are these media types just like the old guy in the pub who looks at everyone through one bleary eye?

2020 was an aberration, when we travelled twice to Adelaide and won both, beat Tigers early, beat our bogey Swans. 2021 we've returned to our old ways. Damn

Good call chief!!!!!
I love the idea of Kelly....but a sustained tilt will come if we got Dusty and used these picks wisely.
Nee!

Re: Saints Back in for Dusty
With all due respect Waldron was Murdoch's fall guy at Storm, a Club owned by Murdoch who also owned the code
Where did Waldron get the cash from to run his second set of books?
The money stashed away in the bottom drawer came from somewhere
Waldron took the fall

Is it only me that thinks Barrett was half right w the Dempster story?
Sounds like he was unhappy to play VFL given issues with concussion. Happy to risk for the main event but not for Mickey Mouse games. Bit of glass half full if you ask me. Not sure why Barrett still cops s*** for it...

Re: Saints Back in for Dusty
Kelly will sign a 2 or 3 year contract so he can finish the business of winning a premiership and then sell out to the highest bidder.
I'm not sure about Martin. I've got a feeling he will stay at the tigers.

Re: Saints Back in for Dusty
We need class in the midfield to take the next step. Whatever it takes to get a premiership. The leadership at the club needs to be strong about getting into finals next year, and not just be content with another season of "rebuild" or "development"..that has been the cop-out for years of not quite getting there. Spend the money, get the best available.

Re: Saints Back in for Dusty
Dusty a saints fan. I reckon it might happen. Would rather Kelly. But meh.
do people here realise we have the sexond youngest squad now. Extremely young. Our whole midfield are babies and we do good.
Whitfield id be going after him. Id also look hard at zaharakis and Alir Alir. 3 good to possibly very good players and would cost not much more than one kelly. Id be pumped if we got those three. I really want Whitfield he is very underated atm would be very cheap even at 500k/600k. His ceiling is very high.
Dusty, whitfield and Cerra. Midfield done.
