35 is the new 26

Post: # 1694680Post terry smith rules »

Is going to be a gun.

Has that time and space that dal had. A beautiful kick and goes for them.

Evasive and growing in confidence every game.
All Australian in2019.

Cleverly evading a tackle in the third term, and striding in to kick a nice goal...
This reminded me of a previous number 35. A long way to go, but looking better and better.

An exciting, polished player, Future gun!

Good kid. Has speed, good skills, always gives it to someone, makes good decisions, is composed and can kick a goal.

He has looked class from his first appearance in the 2015 pre-season.

Certainly a bonus we picked up from drafting Billings who I believe recommended him to the club.

He should have played every game this year when several others of lesser talent were being selected.

We might even be in the top eight if he had played some of those early games.

He has bit of a Morrissey hairstyle happening. His new nickname might have to be Moz if he keeps cultivating that look.

Why we played Lonie over him for the first part of the year baffled me

The coaches have dropped players in the past, like Acres...just to get them to work on things.
Maybe Sincs is still developing and learning his craft...
just checking his stats-
last year he had 7 games early in the season from Rd 2 until
- Rd 10 against Freo- 9 disposals
- got dropped (missed 6 games)
- returned Rd 17 Demons- 14 touches
- Rd 18 Bulldogs: 3 touches
Then didn't return until the Tassy game this year.

Hopefully he can cement his role, he is pure silk and has that composure and sureness;
kudos to Billings for telling the club to go for Sincs...

2020 was an aberration, when we travelled twice to Adelaide and won both, beat Tigers early, beat our bogey Swans. 2021 we've returned to our old ways. Damn

I love that he kicks and handpasses the ball to the place that the receiver SHOULD be - not to them, or worse still behind them.
For the perfect example see his kick to Roberton yesterday.

This x 1000. How many times do our players handball or kick to a player who either has to stop in their tracks or go backwards to receive the ball. The player review every week should be watch Sincs create the play by forcing the player to run into space with his delivery. We start doing this across the board and we will be soo much quicker with our ball movement.

He could be the whole package Loris; has the hip shimmy and the hair.

But with no disrespect to the greatest #35 to ever pull on boots, I'd back Sincs in over Harvs on a set shot at goal ...

How bloody exciting to see someone who has the capacity to be truly worthy wear the great man's number. Good decision to hand it over this year.

Very good with the ball & excellent vision. He still needs to work on the defensive side and strength in contests if is going to become a genuine mid.

Doesn't shirk a contest either.

Will be a good player.

Sinclair is what our other current mids are not. He is a smart and good ball user who gives the ball of to the advantage of his team mates rather than just to a team mate. Importantly he does all this quickly, precisely and well. You can almost seem him "thinking". Many a time I have seen him start to handball only for him to assess that no that team mate would be run down or tackled and so he then swtiches to another team mate.

He runs on or disposes when each is most opportune.

Our other mids are mainly see ball, get ball, git rid of ball to the nearest or any St Kilda player. too often you see passes to stationary players who then just have to stand there as opponents bare down on them to intercept and clear.

When you watch Sinclair you are watching a very good player in the making and perhaps even elite.

When you watch Sinclair one also understands what an impact that Kelly would have on our team. Ball users such them lift the performance of the whole team.

Let's hope his progression continues and he goes past #26, and if he does the club will be forever grateful to Billings who really pushed for the club to have give him a crack.

Because Sinclair is NOT desperate when it is time to defend.
Yes he is good going forward but that is not enough in modern football.
If good going forward was all that is required no opponent would turn up to play GWS in the grand final.

He's a tackling beast when compared to Lonie.
