Was that Roos last game..
Roo looked pretty stuffed with his knee. Could hardly run or turn late in the game.
Looked to be playing on pure willpower.

Wouldn't be a bad note on which to end it. Hardly a dry eye in the house tonight when he did the lap of honour

But has not been playing every week for the last 6 weeks. And in that last quarter it was about the worst I have seen him.Moods wrote:Has been like that the last 6 weeks I reckon

In the second half Roos abilty to run got noticeably worse.The_Dud wrote:Yet was still in the best half of our team
In the first half he was ok.
In the last quarter opponents were easily running passed him as Roo could not generate any pace..

My meaning is that his body may be too physically shagged to get up in a week.

At least he is one willing to run, which can't be said for a lot of his younger teammatessaintsRrising wrote:In the second half Roos abilty to run got noticeably worse.The_Dud wrote:Yet was still in the best half of our team

Re: Was that Roos last game..
Well if he plays next week we will all be a blubbering mess.
That was his farewell game.
Why put him through another one if he's sore?
Was a brilliant and emotional send off today.

Could be his last.
He could not push off, could not turn, could not leap.
Nine kicks and 6 h/p for the game. Still, 2 nice goals
His pride in his own legacy may see him say to Richo : "That's it".

Last game. We're not going to make the eight. Carry him out there on a stretcher if you have to.
I think you're pretty tough, don't I?

Re: Was that Roos last game..
Not sure about all the hype around "last home game" etc
The club (marketing/media dept.) Made it feel like his last game...
I was there ..yes it was emotional etc.....but it felt like end
WILL BE VERY HARD FOR EVERYONE INCLUDING ROO NOT TO BE FLAT NEXT WEEK IN HIS LAST GAME...
i hope it is not the case for many saints fan who will see this as his send off and not go to the G next week....
He was used as a bit of a marketing tool today in the money hungry world with the various things you could buy.
Back to Roo a special saints player and person...privileged to watch you play.

Whilst it wasn't a great win today it was nonetheless a win. I want to remember Roo's final game as a win and a win at home.
Winning next week, especially if Snakey is out suspended, is almost impossible with Richmond needing to win to finish Top 4

Correct - next week is his last official AFL match and he'll want to farewell Jack on ground alsoStephen Theodore wrote:The competitive beast that is the man will not spend next weekend watching the game at home in front of his heater.

There's no doubt in my mind that it's been more 10-12 weeks that he's been playing under a lot of duress.Moods wrote:Has been like that the last 6 weeks I reckon
