Is our Match Committee f#%king drunk???
Not for the first time this year but, am I the only one?
Why drop White? What has he done wrong since he's re-emerged? Hit targets by foot? Defended well? I know these are un-Gilbert like qualities but ffs - why are we not getting games into him? Has anyone on the aforementioned match committee watched any game that Weller has played this year?
Seriously - I feel like our MC hasn't exactly given us the best opportunity to progress this year a few times. Last time I checked, a kid like White is the future.

+1. They can't be fair dinkum with this decision. What message does it send to White, or Weller for that matter.

+1,000 - FFS - White is the future - unless he has pulled up sore - there is no f@rking excuse.

Now that finals are out of the equation, especially ... why aren't we grooming White?

The forward line can't kick a reasonable score, the midfield have slowed down, but we drop White....eh? and they want to give Richo a contract extension...no bloody hope with this mob running the show.

Re: Is our Match Committee f#%king drunk???
Where can we voice our disappointment at this decision - Seriously - if it was not Roo's last home game - I WOULD NOT BE GOING ON SUNDAY - F@rk them - if they can't look to the future I am tempted to not renew my membership - we do not get to many games - but I still pay for seats and Social Club - over $500.00 per year for two memberships - and they serve up this sh!t - No more - Not on my watch - this is a pathetic decision
They had better come out an say that White is in a wheelchair - because even if he has a niggle - they have carried Weller through worse - and this game will be one that White can learn from the buzz and excitement surrounding Roos last game.
THIS P!SSES ME OFF!!!!!!!!!
Not f@rking buying tickets to the Best and Fairest - because it is unfair that our best were not on the field every week!!!!

Re: Is our Match Committee f#%king drunk???
Last 2 years there have been a lot of bewildering selections that don't scream development.
Richo is a very conservative coach and I hate to say it but at times he plays favourites.
There's a lot to like about what he's done, but I still would have preferred we not extend his contract so soon.

Re: Is our Match Committee f#%king drunk???
This is the worst selection decision I can remember.
White has excelled in his limited game-time this year.
One of the few players in the team with excellent disposal skills too.
Mav VERY fortunate to be still in the team.

Agree with this. I can't belive Weller keeps getting picked..he is irrelevant at the moment. White an emergency....no chance Roo will be a late withdrawal?? If they announce it now might only be 10,000 st the game...he playes it will be almost 30,000

Re: Is our Match Committee f#%king drunk???
It's somewhat surprising... but I'm hoping they would have a good reason. White deserve another game on his efforts.
I won't burn my membership and probably never would ... I personally think that there's been a lot more reasons to pack it in, over the last 40 odd years in the scheme of all the Saints history ... so it's it's a "so what, that's surprising" for me and no real drama, hell if I felt like you do over this I would be in the nut house or have done myself in by now
Time to take your medication and lie down for a while ...
Come to think of it ....I dont even buy a membership for myself anymore but I buy them for my daughter and family, and when I get over to Melbourne for a game I throw one of them out and take the grandkids myself .. couldn't burn the membership cards even if I wanted to... kids would hate me

How many goals did White have kicked on him last week? I can recall him leaking a few goals. Maybe his defensive work wasn't up to standard last match........ I don't know, just a thought.

Re: Is our Match Committee f#%king drunk???
Its not about burning the membership over White not playing - it is about questioning the so called experts in parading out the same old each week - SSDD - we feel it - we are only going backwards if we stay still - and by not getting games into the kids at this point of the season is stoopid. I don't personally care if we get into the 8 - we are not going to win the damned thing this year - so we may as well finish down the ladder, but give the kids some experience.supersaints wrote:It's somewhat surprising... but I'm hoping they would have a good reason. I just don't think we are being smart in our selections - and this is a common thread - however - I may be completely off the mark - White may be injured or sore - but I wish they would communicate this to us - because it looks ridiculous!

It's bad enough at Hotham.
But a White-out at Seaford is just ridiculous.

I have no idea hence, why I raised it. It's stupid. Very stupid. Kids and games when you're not going to make finals becomes that only thing you can meaningfully achieve.Teflon wrote:If there's no good reason......wtf is Richardson doing?

I'm really starting to think Alan's a good development guy when that's his sole focus (see McCarthy at Bulldogs) but he lacks mongrel as a senior coach
Horse has it
Clarkson
Matthews had it
Nice guy Alan

I don't believe young players should necessarily be gifted games for the sake of it.
However, White deserves to keep his place on form.
Dreadful decision unless there are other issues we don't know about.

Re: Is our Match Committee f#%king drunk???
Quote from Richo: "it's positive and pleasing that we are really strong and committed to the process. We had a really positive and pleasing third quarter against Melbourne and if you discount the first quarter, as I have done, we won the game. Whitey has been very positive and pleasing and he is part of future. That's why he was dropped.
North are a really strong and committed side even though they've lost 9 out of their last 10. We need to bring our best to win."

I hope you're right, Stoney. I hope it's a bit of selection ploy, but then again, why bother? Two wrongs don't make a White in this case.stonecold wrote:Don't be surprised to see White come in for Stevens!!!!!

Re: Is our Match Committee f#%king drunk???
If Stevens eardrum burst from the collision as reported last week, I would be extremely surprised he would be playing as it will not have healed by now. All the same, club's selection decisions this year have been confusing and probably contributed to our disappointing season. Weller should have been dropped weeks ago and if he is still in the leadership group then no wonder the younger kids haven't come on as well as we had hoped. He seriously is at the crossroads of his career again after a dismal year and not even a glimpse of the form he showed last year.
