Re: POLL: Should Joey play on or be delisted?
I want to vote but your English is so poor I'm confused
If I vote 'Yes' am I voting for him to be delisted or to play on?
I'm sure when you change the OP/Heading we'll start voting. For the record, I was torn at the start of the year...just like Fiery would be if you asked him should Gilbo play on. After the Brereton article we saw the fire back in the belly of Joey and before his injury he was outstanding. I don't think 2018 is our year for a top 4 spot, so unless we recruit 3 ready made A graders, I vote for Montagna to retire

Poll question is above the poll, should Joey be delisted?
I've now made the subject line the same.
You'd understand how it works if you've ever tried to crate a poll - it's a weird format that phbb use.

Re: POLL: Should Joey be delisted?
I voted no because i wasnt 100% on yes.
Seems i cant decide myself.
If his asking another season and is up to it I would vote no. I think the field is lacking real leadership and if he stays another year he can fill that void while its developed.

Re: POLL: Should Joey be delisted?
I think his form warrants another year and if he had been on the field his experience would probably saved the Port Adelaide loss, and he would have settled the team last week in that disastrous first quarter.
The real problem facing the club is the poor contracting decisions when we extended the contracts of Minchington, Wright and Pierce leaving a major problem on who to de-list.

I am sick of being told how to vote by the politically correct lefty bullies so I voted NO.

Re: POLL: Should Joey be delisted?
I understand that quite a few of the more mediocre players on our list (Wright, Minchington, Lonie, Pierce, etc.) are - for reasons I can't fathom - contracted beyond 2017, but I would be sad to see Joey delisted and these others remain.
Last time I watched him play live, Joey still looked pretty fit and was a more accurate long kick than most of the rest of the team. If we're looking to make finals next year, why wouldn't we keep him?

If he wants to play on he should do so at Collingwood.

I voted no. Because Sainters of his caliber and service do not get delisted. They retire.

We shouldn't be needing to delist him, what an inglorious end! He needs to retire.

Re: POLL: Should Joey be delisted?
Saints have a real issue with Leadership. Joey isnt great, but he has great experience to offer. The Saints need someone a little older, with experience to instill into the team. Riewaldt will be an enormous loss in this regard.
Saints will become a very young side with little final experience after Joey departs ..... If his body can stand up it would be worthwhile giving him another year (even if the team progresses past him during the year)

Re: POLL: Should Joey be delisted?
Yes but in the forward line. He is no defender. His good is still quite good and manage him to his 300. His leadership with roo gone will still be valueable. Also depends on trades we get.

I am of the opinion that Savage has blossomed since Joey was injured;stonecold wrote:Joey shouldn't be delisted, he should man up and do the right thing by the Club and retire!!!!!
I think getting extra responsibility has made him lift his game.
Or it could be increased maturity and the fact he was dropped, gave him a chance to reassess?
A friend who parks all day at a train station, was worried about car break-ins, so he put "alarm" stickers on each window.
Not one break-in for his car this year, but there's an average of 5 a week in that car park.
He doesn't know if thieves have seen the stickers and moved on, or whether they never actually looked at his car at all?
We have to ask Shano personally and hope for a very honest answer- we can only go on speculation.
But if Joey's absence ramped up Saveloy...

Re: POLL: Should Joey be delisted?
All due respect to the little champ its probably better to delist than to drop him in favour of giving an untried kid a go. If we need his experience to make the 8 we are in more trouble than he can get us out of. I saw the fire in his belly after Brereton nudged him. He pushed a bit harder than he had been. Then the injury. Was he cruising beforehand? Not the leadership we need really.

Re: POLL: Should Joey be delisted?
He doesn't have roll in our best 22
Can't play back because he can't defend
To small and light for the midfield
Cannot play in the same team as Savage
If he stayes he will only play senior footy as a result of injury. No reason we should stop the development of new young players. I vote retire ,,The club is more important than the player

That a vile nasty thing to say.magnifisaint wrote:If he wants to play on he should do so at Collingwood.
No St Kilda player deserves to go the Collingwood unless they are a low life rat like Luke Ball.

A lot of pollies refusing to retire or even admit they are dual nationals (Xenophon the exception = quad national) to cling on to a job that only pays $200k.saintspremiers wrote:Would you resign from a $400K a year job for who knows what for a lot less money??stonecold wrote:Joey shouldn't be delisted, he should man up and do the right thing by the Club and retire!!!!!
