Barret is desperate to keep his job on the Footy Show. But he will be on notice like the rest of them with Eddie back
Last night Hughesy was shafted to after 10pm, where he belongs. Another hack on the show.
Eddie has given the show CPR but it still remains in intensive care

My son played cricket with him last year and said he was a great bloke who was helping others with their addictions. Typical Barrett. Nothing to see here folks, move along now. Hopefully some people seek help for their problems out of that interview. Otherwise, a complete waste of time and space. A bit like Barrett himself.
Great post - what gutter low life trawling journalism this is
Pathetic
Wouldn't air if it was Pies
If this is what eddy brings to the footy show..... thank truck I don't watch it
+1
Very selective on what they want to break.
Holder of unacceptable views and other thought crimes.

Spot on, magnifisaint. The clear inference out of the interview was that there was a drug culture at St.Kilda, which involved players as well. He tried to go down that path, but was shut down quite quickly. Roo was ambushed and responded well. What a prick Barrett is. Ancient news that has no bearing on the present. Maguire complicit in this baseless attack on the club. Perhaps he should look in his own backyard first. We are an easy target, aren't we?
What a pathetic show! Only looked in last night because Rooey was on. Nice tribute to him and chat with Cath who is a natural. Loved his personal cheer squad....but then it all went downhill.
Why give Eddie yet another platform to spin stories about Collingwood and deflect away the real story of what an abysmal failure they have been as a football team under his watch. If you are going to have an agenda item on drugs in football why not grill Eddie on the strong drug culture that existed at Collingwood not so many years ago. Why should the President of one club be allowed to contrive a story about another club without the right of reply and why are so many people so gullible to his spin.
Barrett has to be the worst so called journalist going around. A very lazy piece of work was the interview with RB. Rehashed story made to look sensational. All very contrived. Good on RB for turning himself around but he didn't earn any brownie points last night.
This is the same guy that earlier this year tried to make out there was more to Sean Dempster retiring , made out the club was bad, in fact we were doing the best thing for Sean. It has taken him all year to find a story to hurt St Kilda. What a dick
That show can burn in hell. Maguire shouldn't be allowed to host it. Talk about a conflict of interest.
In Springfield, they're eating the dogs. The people that came in, they're eating the cats. They’re eating – they are eating the pets of the people that live there.
It's all very well - and understandable - for people to want to bag the Footy Show. But what was Butterss doing on there in the first place? I didn't see the show, but I understand that the interview with him was quite recent.

He's obviously a broken and vulnerable man. He would have been paid for the interview. Barrett is a gutter journalist.

Let's talk about the Pies' culture of players lying to their coaches.
De Gooey breaking his hand "playing with his dog" then fessed up.
Car crash where "Didak was nowhere near the car, next thing he'll be blamed for killing JFK! Stop with the rumours, gutter journos!"

A real Sainter will pledge allegiance to the ❤ and despise the Pies, the Blues, and the Injectors.

Just caught the segment on Youtube - good to hear plenty of Boos when Eddie tried to get everyone to cheer at the end of Barrett's segment.

Nine wouldn't have paid a cent for it.
Buttress agreed to the interview so he could spread the word about his clean living.
I'm no fan of Hank Scorpio and regret the way he screwed up my football club. But I'm pleased he's sorted his own life out.
Hairy Butterss doing drugs was common knowledge in that period.
He lost a long term second tier sponsor who had supported the club for years after he took the sponsors for a drink at a well-known cigar bar at the casino and did cocaine in front of them.
These guys are long term passionate fans, very successful business men and honest.
Butterss loved the attention and being president was nothing but an ego trip.
I was a presidents Club member at the time which entailed buying a table at the Presidents functions at home games at Etihad. They were pretty decent function at the time, particularly 04 when we were up and about.
After Butterss left his wife and hooked up with Ms McLean you could see him deteriorate.
His speeches became self-indulgent and erratic and even the compare announcing him (can’t recall the name but he was on channel 7) would refer to him simply as “THE PRESIDENT”, not the President of the StKFC.
He went from a pretty impressive vibrant good chap to speak with to an aloof arrogant F-ckwit over a couple of year period.
I’m glad he has turned his life around but it pisses me off that he has to have this ‘look at me’ moment and by inference drags the clubs name down in the process.
You were only a Melbourne based household name because you were the President of the club, go away Rod and stop denigrating the club by association.
People may not have like Westaway but he was far less ego driven and controversial.
Proudly assuming the title of forum Oracle and serving as the inaugural Saintsational ‘weak as piss brigade’ President.

C'mon Westaway was ego driven. He just was not an extrovert about it. Once he gained the member's votes for Footy First he hardly spoke to anyone. And then, even worse as a President he was a complete dud. He was a disaster who did nothing good for the club and the worst President that the club has ever had.
Our current President is a huge step up as he is both competent and not ego-centric.

Eddie has given the show CPR but it still remains in intensive care
Eddies become irrelevant and knows his media star fading
This is as much about giving Eddies career CPR as it is the footy show
Anyway, haven't watched it in 10 years and see no reason to change that....more "matey mate in jokes" or "fake outraged Newman" or players dressing up as women miming at end of year (same shyte every time and what's sad is the thousands of mindless drones buy tickets to watch the thing live???)

Wonder if Barrett will have the guts to interview him on the footy show and question Eddie about it? Easier to take unsubstantiated pot shots at smaller clubs that can't defend themselves.

I think you are 100 % correct.
This conflict of interest is precisely why anyone with a Media Career should not be a President of an AFL Club.
Rugby League would have to be the stupidest, most moronic and over rated game of all time.
