Billings set to re sign.
"ST KILDA will lock away one of its most damaging players with star midfielder Jack Billings set to sign a two-year deal.
The Herald Sun can reveal the No.3 draft pick has agreed to stay at Seaford until at least the end of 2019 after a career-best season."

You can change that to JB HAS signed a new two year deal!stkmo wrote:"ST KILDA will lock away one of its most damaging players with star midfielder Jack Billings set to sign a two-year deal.

Excellent. Probably as likely as anyone on the list to become and A grade player.
Hopefully joined by his mate in a couple months time.

Re: Billings set to re sign.
was interesting to hear media persons say last evening they weren't aware he would be out of contract at the end of the year
called being ' off the radar'
but jack intimated at least a month ago they were just waiting for his manager to return.
Good to hear- I must admit i was surprised to read he had played all 20 games AFL this year
( now just the goal kicking)

Yeah, it is good news, however it's a little perplexing that he only signed for 2 years. I would have thought the club would have tried to nail him down to 3 years

Re: Billings set to re sign.
Not unsual to sign players to 2 years still. Sometimes works out better but 3 or 4 would have been better.
Great signing though. In our top 5 players now.

Thank goodness. Any word on Roberton? That's becoming a little worrisome.
I think you're pretty tough, don't I?

Re: Billings set to re sign.
My guess is that the '2 years' is being driven by his management so as to maximise the next contract when he approaches free agency status and can command a long term large $ contract.st.byron wrote:Also a little disappointed it's only two years.
Seems to be the MO of most managers (especially Connors) these days.

I heard Matt Finnis being interviewed on SEN earlier this morning - when asked specifically about Billings and Roberton he said announcements would be made soon about both.

Puts pressure on Jack more than anythingMoods wrote:Yeah, it is good news, however it's a little perplexing that he only signed for 2 years. I would have thought the club would have tried to nail him down to 3 years
If he becomes elite he gets payed more in 2 years for another 4-5 years.he doesn't then we have options.
The inside word was he loves the saints and was always signing..like many others he was waiting for the player payment agreement to be wrapped up.
