We need mids this is a fact. But Stuv isnt done...he had a major lung injury which takes months to recover fitness. He will be back and Armitage will come on again as well. As far as our other younger mids I dont know...Steele is a good addition but not sold on Koby yet. So we need mids.

We need defenders. Carlisle can be quite good and also not so much. Not sure why. Brown...well he does his thing and is ok and not so much. The young guys I don't know because no one does. I like the idea of Lever.

The forward line needs a star. We have ok guys in Bruce Membrey and the younger players are ok. Paddy like Goddard may be great but injuries may never let it happen.

We have many gaps. I would prefer a strong draft rebuild but alas will trade it all for Kelly and hope 1 player fixes the team. We will gladly take him though.


In the ruck I have a very sneaky feeling we will trade away maybe 1 or 2 and get an older ruck option. Is it Goldie? Maybe. I think he might have a better footy brain than Longer but not more shelf life. Also I think waving off Hickey could be foolish. He has more likelihood of being great than some other options I think. We need a rockstar ruck coach.

Story of the season is we didn't take our chances. On ability we should have sewn up a finals spot but threw away several wins with poor kicking and that heartbreaker v Port Adelaide.

Today we were beaten by a good side on their home patch. No disgrace in that. It happens.

I think we are on track for finals next season even with our existing list, though obviously Kelly would be a great addition.

I agree with the OP that we need a massive off-season. Of goal-kicking practice. Of building tanks. Of building confidence.

And we must start 2018 well. Got to get off to a flyer as confidence is infectious.

We've got some real emerging talent on the list and their progress will be accelerated in the absence of Rooey and possibly Joey. Keep the faith I say

Now guys I fully I realise that today was a disappointing day in a disappointing season. But GOLDSTEIN WTF?

The guy is 29. 29! Good rucks rarely go much past that age.

We will not be a threat in 2018 and you would only top up with a player like Goldy if you were very much in the window and needing a ruck as you missing link.


Above all else we need mids with elite ball skills..

Longer beat Gawn in the ruck today by a fair margin and did it do us any good? No as we have a group of mids that cannot handball or kick. The best ruck in the competition is not going mask that sad fact. We need better mids. We do not need Goldstein.

Goldstein may he a stretch LOL but it sounds like they want him gone for personal reasons not footy and if he got back to his best (fresh start) and north pay half his payment its a cheap and possibly amazing pick up.
Whitfield Freeman Kelly would give us that run and class.
Still very hopeful on McCartin and Goddard.

2018 could be a very good year but reality is we need to set up for 2019.
if all went well and we got these guys in.

ALSO want a new forward and fitness coach. Hammil and the ex richmond spub were disgraceful.

A great off season and we could clomb quickly as our. VERY YOUNG TEAM gets to 50 games together.

As for that idiot in charge of recruiting, we gave the job to a career serial failure, who couldn't hack the pace under RL and without any qualifications or demonstrated expertise is appointed to the second most important position in the club.
