Let's be honest: effort gets you a pass mark in junior or local footy. This is the elite level. So much more is demanded and we fell way short.

Agreed. I believe the majority of fans wrote us off at 40 points down I think it was. Don't blame anyone. I also thought we would fall away like we have in similar games.

Looking back now. If we hadn't have stuffed up the Port and Essendon games recently we wouldn't be season over. Season of missed chances....

We played. We lost. We move on. Better effort in the second half though Saints!

so what did it matter?

A nice comeback would have see them follow through and win the farking thing , not feel self satisfied and go hard slouch again

Seriously, I question their endeavour and commitment more than ever after today's "piss against a fence"

Get with the program Dave.
You're not allowed to be upbeat about the saints on here.

Apparently you're not a 'true Sainter' unless you mercilessly 'bag' the Club, coach Assistants, Players and any supporter who doesn't agree that everything connected with St Kilda is crap.

Sometimes we 'saints supporters' make the feral tiger supporters look tame.

Ok let's always find positives and praise mediocrity. After that first quarter effort I felt really gutted and a big part of me wanted to leave and go home but I stayed. Does this make me a bad supporter? Yes there was the 3rd quarter comeback but again no-one was prepared to stand up when it really counted in the last quarter. Fact is we lost it in the first quarter as we have too many one dimensional players who are not talented enough to take us to our next finals assault.

Hate to be a party pooper but we were 40 points down. Q2 21:56. 54 to 14 after a rushed Melbourne behind.

I'm sorry mr magic but what exactly would you like us to be up beat about!? A 1st qtr where we were fighting to stay in the finals race yet could hardly kick a proper drop punt let alone get it near a team mate? Or do we applaud our come back, only to fall back into the same hesitant, reactionary football that got us the deficit in the first place!?

Or maybe we congratulate ourselves on finishing 9th or 10th again when we had opportunities to cement a spot in the finals.

I'm sure Roo was clapping away in the coaches box on our great effort, turnovers and missed opportunities in the forward line..

how many times does Baroose have to fumble right in front of goal?
is he playing at being Basil Fawlty?
Or Mr Bean?
