I like Richo as a coach, but this kind of bull dust has really taken the shine off him this year. Really makes you question where his head is at and as a club, where ours is at extending his contract whilst he's pulling crap like this
But surely you don't begrudge Tony74 for posting the stuff has shone the light on these matters?
'Dont piss in my pocket and tell me it's raining'.
That sums up why people get a bit fed up with Tone.
Tony posts pollyanna PR spin from the marketing department. He treats us like children. We can all see the obvious problems. Dont give me this 'internally he is highly rated' kind of post. Maybe 'internally' some of the club staff are clueless. I'd rather have some honesty.
I've read your posts Con and you have no idea at all to be honest. The fact you think you know more than members of the inner working of the club is hilarious.
The fact you think tone is truly the voice of the 'inner working' is hilarious.
Let me guess Curl. If the umps didn't deliberately cheat we would have won today?

Your melts after losses are half the reason I come onto this site after games, brings a smile to my face after a loss
I get the same feeling when I see a pug walking into walls with a come on its head

So you think 51 goals from 105 goals is ok as a full time fwd?
I'll put it another way.
Does anyone honestly think any of the 17 other clubs would be interested in Mav?
He was cut by the Gold Coast and now we all know why. He can't play.
It's the only logical explanation as to why he gets a game.
And, on top of that, it's the only explanation I've ever been given as to why he gets a game. Unless someone else with inside knowledge of the selection process can give me a different explanation, then I'm going to choose to believe this one.
He is picked by the marketing department because they see him as popular with lady members. He also has a cool name. "Maverick'.
That is my theory.
Well it's better than the theory that he gets picked because he's a good footballer I suppose.
Well Con he doesn't appeal to this female member.
1. His body build , looks like a condom filled with marbles
2. He has narrow set eyes which gives him a shifty look. Many, many moons ago a behavioural science theory, used to identify individuals with narrow set eyes as possessing low IQ and a give away sign as possibly being a criminal. (Not that I would suggest Mav is a naughty lad at all or possesses a low IQ - just narrow set eyes were used a couple of centuries ago to determine such traits!!!!)
3 His hair always looks greasy & in need of a good shampoo.
From my not so humble opinion, I can't see why he would be presented as a poster boy. I definitely think he was standing at the end of the queue when God was handing out good looks.
Now if we talk about his footy skills ......... that is a different matter hmmmmm!!

I take the piss you believe the crap you post.
I have been saying consistently all year we were a bog average side.
The only time I was briefly fooled was after the GWS match but that didn't last long.
Turns out I was right.
And yes. I truly believe Mav is not AFL standard as a football player.

Clearly he is as he's getting a game unfortunately his output has been hindered by injury.
We are in the mix and where the club has basically predicted we would be.

I presume you're talking about Mav. Yeah was pretty poor for three of the four quarters. As were many of them. We're a couple of rungs behind the big boys and it shows.
Melbourne aren't what I would call "Big Boys" and we are clearly a couple of rungs below them. For at least a half of footy we were just insipid. Fumbles, clangers, crap goal kicking; we gave a clinic on rubbish footy today.
We copped our right whack unfortunately, and we sit where we deserve to.
We need an injection of 2-3 class players, particularly ones who can use the ball well. Until we get them we won't rise much higher IMO.

Melbourne are 'big boys' now?
Or you just mean all AFL players are big boys and we are a couple of rungs off AFL level?
I'm not writing Mav off completely, he was good last year but we've done him no favours this season...
I don't know if its injury, unclear instruction, over confidence, under confidence, attitude...
He's a shadow of the player he was
As a club, our response has not been
- give him a rest til he's right
- send him back to the 2s to work on his weak areas or get his confidence up
- try different positions to mix it up
It has been to unconditionally let him do the same thing over and over, week in and out and let him flounder.
OK I Will say it simply. The big boys are Adelaide and Sydney. They are the teams that with average talent ( like a dozen or so teams- including us ) are just stronger both physically and mentally. Not Melbourne , they were just better than us on the day. Not GWS who have been gifted quality. No, we have to improve to be like the big boys.

How about improving the skills. That would be a help. There was some shocking turnovers today and as coaches they should take a hard long look at themselves, because they're the ones that have to put the systems in place to fix it.
In Springfield, they're eating the dogs. The people that came in, they're eating the cats. They’re eating – they are eating the pets of the people that live there.

So what stopped then from having a crack in the first quarter when we had possession?
No leads. No spread at all.
Nothing
Even the Melbourne supporters commented on how bad we were.
It was pathetic.
Can you explain?

I'm starting to think we have some duds on the panel

Classic con, cheers for the giggle mate, you are what we lack in the team, someone who can make something from nothing, keep building that talent son

You've been saying it all year, let the numpties keep on complaining but you never said we were good enough to play finals this year.
Keep up the good work mate, I'm sure the boys are just as dissapointed as we are
