Gilbert...

Post: # 1691735Post bigred »

ready to go this week most likely.

Considered a walk up start really.

Who goes out?

#44 IMO. He is nowhere near it.

Yeah Maverick still hasn't given much at all since initially being dropped. Should have been dropped after the Port game.

He will have ankle OP once our season is dead, but, if he keeps not playing well, it will be before then!!!!!

Gilbo will be an interesting one, nearly have to play him, particularly with no Sandy game this week!!!!!

'Cause StoneCold Said So'!!!!!

We will be great again once Billy is back playing!!!!!

Gilbert can play any role, more importantly he can pinch hit in the ruck to leave Bruce down forward more where he belongs. We can lose Mac and reshuffle the rest of the line up.

Put Mav in for surgery now. He looks hobbled and is not providing much anyway. Gilbo in. Give Mav the extra month to get right for next year. Ditto, Armo.

I think you're pretty tough, don't I?

Wherever he plays, it's always good to have Sam in the side.

You can put your house on that not happening.

A busted lip is not concussion, either.

Well, not much better.

Of course, I overlooked the the fact that Rooey has seen the reason for calling last drinks. Even though it is a do or die match I don't reckon his absence will be of much consquence as it once was. The Port Adelaide game probably drov home the point to the players that they can win, even though they didn't, without Nick. That is not a slight on Nick, just a sign of how much our list has matured in the past year. Somebody questioned "who are our on-field leaders" a couple of weeks ago. Look at the last quarter last week - Billings, Gresham, Bruce, Membrey, Newnes, Acres (especially Acres) all stood up when the game was there to be won. Jacky Steven had been well held but broke the shackles with 11 possies.

Leadership, not as big an issue as we first thought. Number 12 is not irreplaceable but, like the missing saucer in Grandma's antique dinner set, we'll be lucky to see another like him in our lifetimes.

And, yes, the termites have tried to reduce a respectable house to a bush shack. Lucky I have an old water tank to sleep in!
