Re: Changes. Who comes in?
For mine.
OUT.. Lonie, Weller, Longer.
IN>> Roo, Holmes. O'Kearny if we can promote him. Otherwise I would consider Armo. Half a game from him would be better than a full game from Lonie or Weller.

I would hope we keep Acres he is one I think might be good enough for elite .... mightYorkeys wrote:Did superficial research on B.Acres (West Australian June 2017) " have just bought a house in Perth and that's where my family is....." Contracted to 2018. Was trying to get a feel for how clever he is - there was a para on milking Nick for info incl. "poring over tapes" so the one about defending must have been out on loan. Is he committed I wonder watching some of his recent efforts or is he looking West. As for changes how about shuffling the deck a likkle.
White Brown Roberton
Webster Carslile Geary
Reiwoldt Dunstan Stevens
Steven Bruce Billings
Gresham Membrey McCartin
Longer Ross Newnes
Int Savage Marshall McKenzie Sinclair. Lonie, Weller, Steele and Acres out, in Reiwoldt, Marshall, Stevens and Mc Cartin
Geezus start losing these types and you're quickly left with a bunch of tryers......

put it down to my age and addled brain, but is Koby Stevens anywhere near selection? I have no recollection of how long they said he'd be out for.

I'm sad to say this but I think 8cres will come out due to Richo going ballistic at one of his brain fades and also due to the second last goal and last play when he left the hole for Gray to run into.
So Out 8cres In Rooey
If Stevens is fit he comes in for Lonie

Re: Changes. Who comes in?
Surely Lonie can't be selected again.
In Roo, Marshall, Stevens (if fit)
Out Lonie, Weller, McKenzie
I would still prefer Hickey or Holmes to Longer but won't happen. (Hickey's last 2 weeks in VFL ok, BOG or close to two weeks ago)

Re: Changes. Who comes in?
Lonie in the ruck - Hhhmmm - well he is the only one who seems to always jump against bigger opponents in a marking contest - while others stand around. I think he impacts at least one mark per game that you would think he is a dead certainty to be outmarked (eg against their tall backs) and brings the ball to ground.spert wrote:I think Lonie in the ruck would be more value than Billy- he would take more marks around the ground!

Right, so it's all Acres' fault for kicking 5 goals thirteen or whatever it was. Need to show some faith in the kid.Jacks Back wrote:Why would Membrey be out?saintspremiers wrote:Roo in for Skunk.Ellaandjohn wrote:No change. Great effort

Hickey will need to string a few together at the VFL level - hope he can do this.StPeter wrote:Surely Lonie can't be selected again.

Holmes? a bit of a sideshow i am afraid. In five games has only ever taken one mark. Averages 1 kick and 3 handballs and lacks the game understanding. Dont think that is the quantum leap forward needed. Certainly was worth a try from the marketing perspective though

Tucker & Balic for Acres trade a possibility?Yorkeys wrote:Did superficial research on B.Acres (West Australian June 2017) " have just bought a house in Perth and that's where my family is....." And you took it seriously? Wait till you hear my theory of swapping the backline and forward line!stonecold wrote:You have done that already with such ridiculous post suggesting Lonie play ruck!!!!!spert wrote:Prove me wrongstonecold wrote:Typical potting of Billy, not suprised!!!!!spert wrote:I think Lonie in the ruck would be more value than Billy- he would take more marks around the ground!

Re: Changes. Who comes in?
Not being argumentative, but why would Acres be considered elite. I understand the line of thought that any good player given consistent selection and roles can develop better than otherwise but I wonder if Blake is like that horse that looks good in the yard occasionally comes home hard but always just misses. He is tall seems quick but doesn't seem to break tackles or make good decisions like elite players do.At some point Marshall and Battle need a fair crack too - Messers Lonie, Blake and Weller would seem to have had a fair chance to show what they have got and I suspect they average well under a goal a game.

it's inherent and part of Saints DNA...To the top wrote:Petrie BOG next Sunday.

Baroose drops to VFL, plays the Northern Blues...
his opponent- the footy equivalent of a Ford Falcon that was used as a taxi and is now rubbish-
by the name of Liam Jones- gets 12 marks, 26 possies, gets named BOG...
Saints can be relied on to run into form, opponents, and whole teams.

Come on Yorkeys...it's all about the romance!!Yorkeys wrote:Not being argumentative, but why would Acres be considered elite. I drive my little 4 cylinder in the hills, and when I am in front of a HSV or Subaru, I pretend I am in a Maserati Gransport, but when they pass me,
I realise just how deluded I was.
It's what makes a Sainter a Sainter.

Re: Changes. Who comes in?
Yes yes sorry sometimes I forget the romance - of course you are right. I resolve to lighten up. Thanks for the heads up. Go Sainters in whatever vehicle we travel. I choose to believe the eighth cylinder is about to fire. Thanks again Wellard.
