Kicking for Goal - Hypothetical (life and death situation)

Post: # 1689811Post Sainternist »

Q: You have a gun pointed at your head and your life depends on a St Kilda forward kicking a goal from a set shot from 45 metres out, directly in front. You can nominate only one of our forwards to take the kick, sans Nick Riewoldt.

I don't know about you, but I'm almost convinced I'd be a goner in this situation. This is a real concern for us in the near future. We need to improve on this tenfold very soon or otherwise we simply won't be seeing any type of window opened for a premiership in the foreseeable future.

WHere is the "none of the above" button.

Our goalkicking this year blew our season.

No question. 46% just doesnt cut it.

Better to point the gun at the head of those kickers.

Would be interesting to see if that could concentrate their aim.

Snipers in the crowd with paintballs?

I felt really uncomfortable with this question.

If it's an American cop holding the gun, choose which is most likely to occur:

a. the cop panics and shoots the player instead;
b. the cop shoots before the player even lines up;
c. the cop shoots the umpire because he believed the very shiny whistle in the hand
was in fact a loaded firearm.

well i guess the positive is the confidence (or less of a lack of) in Membrey.
From his first season with us i thought he would be a very good player once he improved his goal kicking - it was abysmal.
on this choice i'd go with bruce outside forty metres - membrey inside.

There was a time when Jack Steven would never miss a set shot.

Of the list above I'd pick Membrey but he can choke if the kick is really crucial.

Membrey from this list but impressed with Carlisle's kicking for goal from limited chances this year.

Me too. He's a fantastic kick for goal. Wish he wasn't so averse to playing up forward.

the Murphygate game where JB got very lucky...against his trend...
if he'd missed 3 or 4 like he normally does, his figures would look even worse than they are!

So Gresh, Billings and Bruce could reasonably become 50+ goal a yearers. + Marshall Battle - all looks good so Jake C its still starring in the defence 2018 for u. I feel good do do do do do. Although I sort of did in March 2017 as well but it is our time, soon.
