Record in Adelaide
So since 1991 we have won 7 games out of 35 played in Adelaide
Football Park - 1991 to 2013 - we have won 7 out of 28
Adelaide Oval - 2014 to 2017 - we have won 0 out of 7
That is not only atrocious that is downright heartless and spineless!!!!
To put this into perspective
Richmond - 13 from 37
Melbourne - 8 from 35
Bulldogs - 12 from 33
Carlton - 13 from 29
North - 12 from 34
Freo - 11 from 37
Brisbane - 11 from 27
What absolute fkn disgrace - for the fact that during that period we have had a far superior teams than those listed above and their track records are still better
What the hell is it with Adelaide - I hope they put up posters in the change room on Saturday with those stats - if that doesn't get us fired up nothing will
Enough is enough - we should be as mad as hell and make it a priority to not stand for this shiteful record - time to make a statement and time to make it now

Woeful
As ex-president Peter Summers said:
“If we are going to be a contender, we may as well plan to win the bloody thing.”
St Kilda - At least we have a Crest!

Do something about it.

Re: Record in Adelaide
Didn't realise it was that bad.
Haven't been over there this century but did see two of the wins in the 90's.
The highlight was Danny Craven passing to Lockett for his 100th goal and a big win.

It's gonna be a while before we win in Adelaide again

Re: Record in Adelaide
When you factor in the fact that we had a fair bit of success in the 90's and were a top side for almost a decade post 2002, it's even more damning. Surely it must be largely psychological. We've not been great on the road in general, but teams like the filth actually seem to lift when on the road. Having said all that, one of my favourite memories is the 2005 qualifying final at "Waste Lakes", when I was surrounded by arrogant Crows supporters, who mocked the saints all night. Banger tore them a new one that night, with one of the finest individual games I've ever seen. The silence at the end was eerie. It didn't last long. The saints that were there made plenty of noise. We went off! I'm sure we cost them the flag they were convinced was already in the bag. One bloke there told me they'd already booked the celebration dinner on GF night!
The best part was Banger shoving it to Blight, who had told the media after the '97 GF that he wasn't concerned about Harvey because, "He gets plenty of it, but he doesn't hurt you." After Mad Malcolm tried to exit out Banger, Loewe and Burke on his arrival at Moorabbin, it was a case of sweet revenge. The only thing that would've made it sweeter is if Blight had been coaching the Crows that night. He didn't have much to say in the media after the game.

Re: Record in Adelaide
Since the beginning of 2014 we have played more games at the Adelaide Oval (8 - including this weekend) than the MCG (7).
In that time we've played Port Adelaide and Adelaide in Melbourne a combined total of once.

Re: Record in Adelaide
A reflection on those who create the FIXture. Nice scheduling. Any coincidence in the fact our current slump started at the end of a run of three games in thirteen days, with a trip to Perth to kick it all off? No conspiracy theories, just stating that the AFL sees us as making up the numbers. A bit like Norf. We're in the $1 bin in the bookshop of the AFL.Beno88 wrote:Since the beginning of 2014 we have played more games at the Adelaide Oval (8 - including this weekend) than the MCG (7).

I was there that night too! What a contrast to the previous year, and our narrow loss to the " chokers " I travelled over to Adelaide overnight on the bus from Moorabbin.......WHAT an experience THAT was! Got into "sin city" at around 6:30 am feeling somewhat less than energetic and facing the prospect of finding something constructive to do for the twelve or so hours to first bounce.
The bus driver said he'd be at the ground to take us home (?!?!) after the game (?!?!)
My daughter was flying over a wee bit later, so we would be meeting up pre game. While wandering around, another Saints guy said "I'm going to find a hotel and grab some sleep" We found a joint on North Terrace and for $40:00 each, got a room (two single beds!)
The room was still being serviced so we went to the dining room and had a huge breakfast!
After a shower I hit the sack and slept like a baby! Woke around 2:30 with the telly showing the Melbourne-Geelong elimination final ( when King's boot found Jeff White's face)
Met up with my daughter for " afternoon tea " (West End variety!) and then caught the bus to moron park.
The game was fantastic! The result even more so!
After the game I found the bus and driver waiting in the car park. He pointed out to us, that he was strictly forbidden to take us to a pub........ however, he needed to check his tyres, and so pulled into the car park of a HUGE bottle shop naturally, we all purchased "supplies"
It was a happy band of Sainters who rocked home on the Moorabbin bus! It was the mother and father of hangovers for the old Jiggster on Sundee, but what the hell?!
Wonderful memories of a great weekend with wonderful folk!!!!

Re: Record in Adelaide
Not encouraging to see Richo's performance in win/ loss ratios in his time at the Saints.. down near the bottom, and he is in his fourth season- just not good enough. He needs to turn his performances around, and tomorrow might be a good time to do it.

and the fact that your journey to Adelaide last time resulted in a win,
I'm praying to the heathen gods that your magic will get us the 8 points that we so richly deserve...

I'm picking us too, we should be very dirty on our season so far, and to be quite honest would be ready to tear a side apart. Port aren't unbeatable, and it all starts here, tomorrow night saints, just effing do itavid wrote:Well, I'm picking us to win on Saturday.

Re: Record in Adelaide
Had a look at the records
We played the crows once in Melbourne in the last six years.
We played port once in Melbourne in the last seven years.
Would love someone from head office to explain how this is fair.
Also see from our history over there that most games are over at half time, due to a poor first or second quarter from us.
So if we're in the game at half time were a chance.
Go Saintas!
