Weird to be a little disappointed with a 67 point win, but it should have been 107

Think of it this way - if I told you that we would win by 67 pts before the game you would have been over the moon

I'd cut some slack they'd slaughtered them for 3 qtrs and out good pressure on so were bound to run out of puff at some pointThe_Dud wrote:Weird to be a little disappointed with a 67 point win, but it should have been 107
Good win
Positives:
Accuracy
Ball movement and hit targets
J Sinclair
Forward line worked
Seb Ross
Work still
D Mac
Newnes (sloppy)
Ruck - Longer did ok but still think it's not our strong point

STOP. for those thinking we lst the second half. STOP. Modern day footy. We demolished em so much so we could afford to preserve. the faCT we won by 67 should be amazing to you. its not 2007 its 2017. presercation is everything. don't be surprised when we win the flag this year. that 1st half was as good as ive ever seen.

Exactly. We all wanted the extra poofteetnth of a percentage point to get us into top 4.Devilhead wrote:Think of it this way - if I told you that we would win by 67 pts before the game you would have been over the moon
But let's face it, travelled to Perth, 6 day break and we still smashed them.
Very, very proud.

what happened to Newnes? sat out for the last quarter or most of it.
pleasing game by long, and roberton was back to his early season form - clinical with the ball.

We were fantastic. Best win for about 6.5 years. Suck on that, all you bloody death riders!

Should have won by a lot more to be honest, so we only go away with a 10 goal win. Could have built that percentage up if we hadn't bludged in the last quarter. Best team effort this season.

Preservation - I know that 67 points feels a little disappointing after 82 at half time - but I would rather that we were better prepared for Essendon next week, than win by 100+ and lose next week.desertsaint wrote:what happened to Newnes? sat out for the last quarter or most of it.

Re: Match Thread Saints v Tigers Round 16 2017
Well done boys. It was great to see such excellent kicking for goal and putting the game to bed early. We probavly should have been in the top 4 above Richmond on percentage were it not for that last quarter.
Lastly, on a more negative note it was sad to hear a bunch of supporters in level 3 members laying into DMac every time he got near the ball. Support our young guys when we're at the ground and let them build confidence to become players rather than tearing them down for mistakes in their formative years.

It was more that they wete very tired after the first half and the Freo game out west and with that fatigue their skills dropped off.spert wrote:Should have won by a lot more to be honest, so we only go away with a 10 goal win. Stil a great win by any measure.

Disagree on Longer, starting to get his hands to those marks and will start to clunk them soon. Won in the ruck vs a good opponent.Teflon wrote:I'd cut some slack they'd slaughtered them for 3 qtrs and out good pressure on so were bound to run out of puff at some pointThe_Dud wrote:Weird to be a little disappointed with a 67 point win, but it should have been 107
