All the ex players on various panel shows all say things like this happen several times each week.
The only reason this has been noticed is that it actually worked when most times they don't.

Just in case you missed the follow up. Now this is being focused on instead of promoting Maddie match and the charity - good the media focuses on the important stuff. Just read that Fahour, against advice, gave Houli a reference (lucky to only get 4); Lewis with a straight face says none of Hogan, Bugg or himself meant to hit opponents in the head and it is seriously reported; Ballantyne plays obnoxious football and is just a "pest", Murphy spits on a prone Carlisle and is a martyr; Geelong gets a free against Saints when two of their players run into each other; Stevie J is just a cheeky boy running past opponents and asking for a handball; Hawkins and Cotchin clearly punch guys in the face - nothing to see here; but Nick spends his whole playing career being illegally blocked, tunnelled, scragged, held, kneed, and bumped off the ball - but upright citizens like G. Lyon can only say he is a cheat because a Freo player stuffed up. Its like there is a parallel universe where Dermott, Kellie Underwood and Garry Lyon actually add value and what you see isn't real. Their anti Saints agendas are clear and not too professional.

Steve Johnson is desperate these days, and Brad Johnson's last 100 games were littered with staging and rubbish tactics.
