Played mighty poorly but a very important 4 points to get.
Well done
bulls***! Kicked poorly at the start but straightened up when it mattered.
We played poorly. The win was good and important...last quarter showed some guts.
But we kicked 12 goals against a bottom 8 team that was 1 man down the whole game. We missed goals we should have kicked and were let off the hook by Freo quite a bit.
It's great we're in the 8 but if we play like that in the finals it's a moot point. That's what I mean by play poorly.
The 'when it mattered' argument just doesn't hold. Every shot on goal matters...the only way to build a lead and have won a game before the last 90 seconds is through kicking goals.
This sounds quite negative after a gutsy win, but there is a difference between a gutsy win and a really well executed 4 quarter
game.
It is quite negative.. didn't Freo just loose to No 3 side Geelong down at their dung heap , and they missed the shot to beat them????
Just wish
People can enjoy winning ... but the same old sad sacks just look for the negatives every game...
Good win on that we're certainly not playing our best... but good sides win when they have to...we did suck it up and try to enjoy for at least five minutes
And the president said " I did not have sex with that woman"
And our former president said " Football is like golf"

Bruce has regained a lot of his judgement, he used to run to the wrong spots as well as get outbodied, his 3 goals
all came from using his brains and thinking.
Billings 2 massive marks in the last 2 minutes were game-savers. Absolute brilliance and courage.
Skunk did a number of good things including his last handball to the Gresh- he made sure that under pressure, he got it to Gresh nicely.
A real Sainter will pledge allegiance to the ❤ and despise the Pies, the Blues, and the Injectors.

any saint supporter , even the critics like me will find this game pleasing. Lonie and weller....if they are in the side next week I will spew. Who thought we were done when Gilbo went off? Put your hands up Gilbo haters.
Great win to build on a bit of momentum again. Thank god they brought Steele back in but how Weller keeps getting a game is beyond me. Acres would have been handy today instead of him. Mav has been very disappointing all year. More of a show pony out there and nothing like the player of last year.

Why not he's the coach and has the final say.
In Springfield, they're eating the dogs. The people that came in, they're eating the cats. They’re eating – they are eating the pets of the people that live there.
That was a great win at the end of the day - and what a freakin' roller-coaster. I thought the wheels fell of a couple of times and thought Billings really could not hit any targets for a quarter or so (although he was getting possessions), and Mav just was not present. But didn't Steele, Stevens and Bruce step up! Never drop J Steele! He is tough and strong and fast!
Wow !
Now we actually deserve the spot in the eight - but a goal kicking coach would be an excellent move.
This is a team game and there is no room for individuals who think they are above walking through the fire.
Steele' second half won us the game, unbelievable effort, unbelievable to think the coach dropped him, utterly staggering.
Membrey excellent . Billings big late. Lonie makes a lot of errors but at least he finds the ball and has a crack, more than a couple of others, but think he is only back up for Gresham

Out- longer , untouchable Weller, lonie .
In - hickey, acres, freemanfield
Freeman was just an absolute cut above this week. Absolutely everywhere I'd give him another week though. And if anyone saw Ray Conellans goal that's enough for me to say get him on the senior list haha.
Stirring win which should build confidence - up against it all day and looked down and out a few times but kept fighting and found a way against a hostile crowd
Agree that Longer and Weller need a break - so in comes Hickey and Acres
Lonie tries hard and shows courage but I think Freeman probably now deserves a chance
Gilbert struggled today and could be rested as a precaution - so could Bailey Rice be given his debut?

Far more effective than any dose of selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors. If only you could prescribe saints' victories, we could put big pharma out of business on the anti-depressant market! Imagine what a flag could do!
I started with nothing and I've got most of it left!

To put it simply, they have been ordinary and don't deserves their positions in the team.
In your opinion

Surely Weller has to have a spell at Sandy.
If Lonie could somehow learn to stick a tackle he could be a player.
Freo have a guy who was their Lonie and is now performing...either Ballantyne or Neale. Maybe I'm wrong about that...I'm not very good with opposition players. But I think Lonie will be a good afl player in 3 or 4 years time...not sure he will or should be kept on the list until that time though. Great footballer, Lonie.

If we could somehow truck in a number of barn sides and plonk them in front of the points and around the boundary and only leave the goal mouth open then we would be unstoppable.
As ex-president Peter Summers said:
“If we are going to be a contender, we may as well plan to win the bloody thing.”
Play poorly over in Perth, yet beating a side who had beaten Essendon, Bulldogs, and Carlton over there.
No Nick, and no Jack Steven having an influence.
Gutsy win, and a big win, This will be the turning point for our Club.
Agree Bassoon. Nine more scoring shots should've seen us win by a mile. Just like several other games this year. We are a good side in the making. A decent ruckman, two mids and another good forward and we're flag material. Get rid of the numpty in charge of recruiting, hire someone who knows his stuff and 2020 is still a chance.

Jack didnt have much of an influence but in the crucial stages when the game was there to be won he got the clearances and was there. Roos knee knock kinda took him out of the contest.
