Acres had one ordinary game last week, but should not be enough to drop him. Mav is the real out of form player, closely followed by Membrey and Bruce I reckon...hang on..that's most of our forward line! Poor old Richo..no one at Sandy beating down the door to get a game.

wellard? No, my best games are all behind me. In the early 80's when I was getting 25-30 possessions

Freo make 3 late changes to their squad of 25 - Blakely, S HIll & Deluca out. Prior to the final teams being named.

Why do the AFL allow this?? Just pick your 25, and make sure 22 of those can play.

We did it often enough under Lyon: it seems like he has always wanted to try to mess with the minds of opposing coaches.

Connor Blakely of Freo left training early "due to illness" but he was caught surfing at Yallingup
Look, he should be fine, it's in the middle of the Home and Away season, and they surf all the time at Summer Bay on Channel 7!

Predictable - Weller has been kissed on the di.. by a fairy. His form has been lacking for sometime very lucky.

We'll lose IMO and deservedly so.

We needed more run and carry and a bit of zip.

I would have liked to have seen Hickey come in for Longer, D-Mac come in for Mav and don't mind Acres for Steele. Would have been nice to see Long come in too but not sure at whose expense.

The motto of our season to date is "we've tried nothing new and are out of ideas"

Weller is a waste of a plane ticket and accommodation
He needs to prove himself with the Sandy Surrender Monkeys

I felt like Acres needed to get dropped, but for Steele, I cannot tell why. Didn't Gilbert say that despite him getting 36 in the VFL he wasn't that damaging? Why are we bringing him back if he hasn't fixed the reason he was dropped.

Should have debuted Rice and plunked him in the backline while Joey moves to the wing rotations with Sinclair, Billings and Newnes

Gilbee said that just like all the other mids, he needed to be better with his finishing, or they needed more polish, something like that

Whatever the reason, we are carrying way to many inside players, and on a ground like Subi, we are gonna get torn up on the outside. This will be lost at the selection table

yes, I agree with you
One of the Hill brothers is out, but the other one, and a lot of Dockers, are way too quick
Long came over, he should play because he can run well
DMack stayed in Melbourne, wasted because he runs too (he was confused in the WCE game because of the pace of AFL but I expect he's ok now)

Do you mean the dogs game? he looked a little off the pace in that game but got into it as it went on… I still think was pretty stiff to be dropped in the first place.

only two games this year
17 touches, 9 marks, 3 tackles and a goal
20 touches, 6 marks, 6 tackles

not bad for two games against last years grand finalists.

We need to be getting games into this kid, he's 21 and only played 18 games… you can't get to 50 or 100 without playing and it's hard to adjust to the pace of AFL if you're playing VFL.

that's good numbers, more than Mav's had this year apart from Tasmania training run, yeah
he needs to be allowed to play seniors properly

Was sure Steele would be in for Mav. Disappointed. I like Mav - I like his physicality and he's well capable. But he needs a wake-up call.

I agree about getting games into McKenzie. He could potentially end up a very useful player, but it's hard to tell because he hasn't played much.

Was extremely disappointing last week and has continued his descent (not a death spiral) to the point he had to miss. Doesn't play 4 quarters consistently as yet.

Last game he played made him look like an uncomposed debutante. Needs to dominate in VFL, not just play OK and expect a call-up.

Yep I'm afraid I agree and given our draw we may be out of finals calculations soon.

Maybe then we'll see some adventure at the selection table such as giving Acres a real crack in the middle and bringing Hickey back.

Also get some games into Paddy, even if it involves moving Riewoldt out of the forward line.

That's to name just a couple I'd like to see.

The club needs more daring and ambition and I'm not seeing it with this safe and conservative selection policy.

Teams look very even on paper.
Dockers have a few real kids in.
Cox, Darcy, Logue and Tucker.
We only have Gresh.
On paper we should win in a tight one.
Should be close.

Blakeley is out on Sunday which gives us a boost.
Absolute gun imo. He has been tagging and still getting 25 touches. Would have gone to Ross or Steven.

Correctimundo.
Stuv n Ross seem to struggle with hard tags.
Stuv in particular.
Without his breakaways, we get killed and nobody seems to step up in his absence
