Re: Carlisle
And yeah at 196cm, I reckon I'm more qualified to comment on Key Forwards, Backs and Ruckmen than a mid-field midget, but best of luck to ya!!!!!

Re: Carlisle
Steadily improving Should be top notch next season ....Nice to see him drift into the forward line and take a big mark and goal, would like to see that a bit (lot) more often..
And the president said " I did not have sex with that woman"

Re: Carlisle
Agreed. As we don't have a ruckmen that can take a contested grab, Carlisle is our next best option. We just don't use him and I don't understand why.supersaints wrote:Steadily improving Should be top notch next season ....Nice to see him drift into the forward line and take a big mark and goal, would like to see that a bit (lot) more often..

Re: Carlisle
Gee, those that are not impressed with Carlisle and what he's bringing to the team are either just being antagonistic - or are very, very hard markers.
Or just don't have a clue!

Think you'll find those numbers should read 200cm and about $700k, but either way, he's worth it!!!!Vazelos wrote:Carlisle is a gem....
Not many 196 cm talls that have his talent and at $500k approx a year is a steal with the new CBA agreement.
He will be even better next year...

He was picked to do a particular job and play a role
And by cripes he is doing a damn fine job
One of them Norf big forwards was benched in the last qtr because Jake and NJB had strangled them
The club knows what a hard working player they have, Jakey delivers on the day, he does his job and he does it well
I especially love it when the guys get around him after he kicks a goal, like in Tassy and yesterday
They give him a lot of luv, they do
A real Sainter will pledge allegiance to the ❤ and despise the Pies, the Blues, and the Injectors.

Re: Carlisle
With a defender it's a matter of how many of his opponents he has beaten on the day. Very few have seemed to have got the better of him. I'd say he's plays far more 7/10 games than 5/10 games.BigMart wrote:I'd like to know which games he's dominated?
Also, his presence alone has strengthened our backline tenfold. It's not like the backline has been haemorrhaging big scores this season.
Have you not found him serviceable enough?

Re: Carlisle
I think people are missing the point that im trying to make. There is no question that carlisle is doing a fine job. I also feel that we dont have a go to player when things are tight and everyone is manned up. I believe his marking abilities are second to none but we as a team dont use it that much. We have ruckmen that a useless in marking contests so we really on shorter players and precise kicking which we are not known for.

Great player. Is the rock of the backline

He's 200 cm and a champion of the game. Elite. Gets paid 6 to 700k to ply his trade. Unlike an imaginary actor/wrestler.give us a spell, big fella.

I reckon Sammy Fisher and Shaunie Dempster would be enjoying a cold beer tonight ffeling warm and fuzzy with the knowledge they got out when the time was right and they have left the Saints in the safe hands of Jake.
And when you look at the size of Jake, it makes me appreciate even more what magnificent careers Sam and Shaun had and what outstanding service they gave us given their physical dimensions.

Re: Carlisle
If only we had another one of him to stick in the forward line. He would be a gun CHF if he played there too. Carlisle is a seriously talented, mobile key position player.
Re: Carlisle
Carlisle and Gresham for pick 6 is proving to be a great trade.
Wonder when David King admits he got it wrong again. Up there with his call that we wouldn't win a game.
