Re: Get the pitchforks ready! OUT Steele, IN Dunstan
Dunstan played well tonight, and also used the ball very well. He had some excellent passes.
So you would have to say that Dunstan for Steele worked well. Based on tonight he played well and deserved his place in the 22.

Very good first quarter!
10 possessions after that... finished again with 18...
Overall an OK game. Midfield was belted in the last Q.

putrid last quarter (did he get a stat?)
been his problem .. Seems good in stats up to half time for the year and poor after half time
Can anyone verify that?

As I have said elsewhere: I'd have them both and no Lonie.saintsRrising wrote:Dunstan played well tonight, and also used the ball very well. He had some excellent passes.

Dunstan still has fitness issues.

With respect to Steele who I rate, he absolutely needed to be dropped after that performance vs the Crows.
Hopefully he's back in next week but IMO absolutely nothing wrong with dropping a player when they don't play to standard
Personally, I'd move Dunstan to HFF at Weller's expense and bring Steele in that way

On Dunstan, I actually think he's the type of player that does well with a a few weeks at Sandy for patches where he can work on his tank w/o being so badly exposed.
I def see his flaws but reckon he'd do well with more time to overcome them and not always in the seniors

Regardless of whether there is such a pattern, he was definitely quite sore in the second half - appeared to be a lower leg sort of limp but obviously not sure.SuperDuper wrote:great first quarterBigMart wrote:Very good first quarter!

Post match report said calf injury, but tony reported no injuries, so probably just cramp or a stinger.St.Roly wrote:Regardless of whether there is such a pattern, he was definitely quite sore in the second half - appeared to be a lower leg sort of limp but obviously not sure.SuperDuper wrote:great first quarterBigMart wrote:Very good first quarter!

Re: Get the pitchforks ready! OUT Steele, IN Dunstan
Thought Dunny was important in the first half and clean with his hands and good with his disposals. I think we need to use our depth to improve the team, and that's exactly what is happening. Seems we can't play 4-5 inside mids in the 1 team, so with a relatively young guy like Steele, it's not a bad idea to rest him now and then. If Koby, Armo, Seb, Steele and Dunny are all fit it's going to be difficult for Dunny to maintain his spot imo, unless he can increase his endurance running.

If Dunstan plays as a forward he needs to face away from goal when taking a set shot.skeptic wrote:With respect to Steele who I rate, he absolutely needed to be dropped after that performance vs the Crows.

That way he has a greater chance of kicking a goal.
When you kick a goal you hurt the opposition.
But when you kick a behind you waste a forward entry and give the opposition a chance to get the ball out of the danger zone.
