Crows v Saints

Post: # 1674903Post SemperFidelis »

Cats giving an absolute lesson on how to roll Adelaide.

We can't compete on midfield dominance, but they've pretty much taken Sloane out and the Crows have crumbled. Accurate kicking (not handball) up the wings and ferocious tacking all over the ground has slaughtered them. They can't land a kick inside 50.

We'll get them on the rebound, at home, but there is clearly a way to beat them.

Put a hard tag on Sloane and you beat Adelaide. If North and Melbourne can give them a hiding we can beat them.

We'll get beat by 10 goals - with free count 23 -6 until the last quarter when things will be evened up.

We'll get schooled.
Our coaches are a little deluded about how much work we have to do before
we can think of top 8

That's possible but I'm hoping for a really good performance and a 30 point loss. I'd be happy with that.

Only after dominating the first 45 minutes and kicking 2.8

Some would call you Nostradamus but it's more like Captain Obvious based on this season for us...

Round 2, 2009 15 11 to 10 9, Kosi kicked 4.

Jarryn Geary, Sam Gilbert, Leigh Montagna and Nick played in that game.

The last time we beat them was at Docklands in Round 18, 2011 - by 103 points - a somewhat remarkable game.

I think Weller needs to be turned into a Pitt bull negative player.
ATM he thinks he is a star goal kicker but the reality is he isn't good enough for that.
Needs to go back to his blue collar working class roots and stop trying to be a crowd pleasing glamour boy.
Has gotten ahead of himself.
Using him on Sloane would be a start.
Sure we could use Newnes or Ross in a negative roll but they are too good and we need their drive.
Ross and Newnes are vastly better players than Mav.
Mav needs to start hurting blokes.

Though remember that Kardinia Park is only 115m wide and this very much helps the slow Cats to shut down teams that do better on wider spaces. It cramps their opponents and suits their slowness and gameplan better.

Will Richo change how we play in this respect?

Our last two games we have been absolutely creamed by teams scoring from turnovers. And indded this has beena weakness all year.

Richo leaves our backline empty. All our players push up and allow opposition players get behind them and easy goals have abounded due to this.

The Crows would absolutely love it if we roll this out again.

The Cats by contrast always keep someone back. Richo needs to change our gameplan, but will he?

It goes without saying that our players need to not butcher their ball use again.

The Crows will hard tag Steven and that will be it for us, unless Richo comes up with another plan for outside run, but I'm not crossing my fingers.

We've already played two superior opponents to Adelaide, GWS & Geelong.

We coped with GWS' star studded midfield. Adelaide have got a one man midfield and their big forwards need it lace out, they're hopeless in a contest.

Very gettable are Adelaide.

I hope you're right, but I fear you're very wrong.

Walker to get 5 goals, Betts to snag about 4,
Crows to win by a whole lot

f****** Betts will tear us another one. I have nightmares about gun Aborginal forwards against us. It's a big bogey of ours.
