Apologies to all who get offended if I criticize Montagna but I have always believed he is over-rated and will not change my mindset. The confirmation for me was after our 2009 and 2010 finals series. He was poor and so was Dal Santo and lost me then as a player when the team was so close to that elusive glory. His media mates pump him up to the point that it is truly annoying and probably has made him believe the crap they spin that he's an elite St Kilda champion. The reality is put both Montagna and Dal Santo together and you don't get half a Selwood. Montagna is and always has been our bruise-free footy king. He is now clogging up a spot for developing a future player.mullet wrote:he should be starring today with Jack Steven being tagged.SuperSaint wrote:Time to retire Montagna. What a pathetic option for a senior player and leader.

Skills really poor the past two weeks. A lack of focus and down on confidence.

I actually think he should be captain not Geary.mullet wrote:I think newnes has been great this season , alas he is on his ownBruce G McAbee wrote:Simple fact, we havr not improved on last year with a few players going backwards. Our number 1 draft pick will probably be ahead of Hawthorn's.

What a beauty that Caleb daniel is. Smallest player going around but his skill, decision making and hard ball contests are so good. He has killed us today.

Honestly the least of our problems today, think you need to look elsewhere for a scapegoat.SuperSaint wrote:Apologies to all who get offended if I criticize Montagna but I have always believed he is over-rated and will not change my mindset. Re: Match thread - Saints vs Bulldogs
First time in a long long long time that I turned off the telecast of the game at half time knowing that we had no chance due to shiteful umpiring - feeling a touch guilty I just turned it back on to see Daniel clearly drop the ball in a good tackle and then Stringer get spun around 540 in 2 tackles and handball it directly to the boundary line - the tv is now off again
The Devil makes work for idle hands!!!
