Milan Faletic on the Coodabeens last Saturday

Does not sound like he has any great love for the Saints, an affection but not love

Ta bratty....... what would I do without you?

Were you hot sitting in the sun for half a game? Phew it was a relief after half time, when the sun went behind the stand. At least then I could see the other half of the oval. That's the trouble staring into the sun, you can't tell, whose got the ball at the other end or what the free was/wasn't for. No use looking up at the big screens as the sun reflects off them also. Lucky I taped the match , I can view what really did happen down the other end for the first half of the game. Glad that first quarter was up our end ground!

Saw St Michele at the ground, her and hubby Ron have returned home from years travelling around Europe, Middle East & Asia on a motor bike. Adventurous middle aged couple they are.

Ron's having the motor bike shipped back to Australia, think it's going to be pride of place in the lounge room!!!

Must have been at least a middle aged gent.......... I think the Under 19's went out with "buttoned up boots".

Eli Templeton is having a sensational season too, averaging over 30 touches per game so far this VFL season. On Thursday night, the former Saint declared his interest in earning a second chance with an AFL club, telling SEN: “If (the drive to play AFL again) wasn’t there, I probably would’ve gone home and played for my dad’s local footy club. I was never going to do that, I was always going to play in Victoria and push my case to get back into the system.”

Norf sent a scout to look at Eli a couple of times early this year.
A very nice player who is prone to getting the easy kicks and one/twos as opposed to winning his own ball and getting his hands dirty was the comment.

If he can change that side of his game i believe he could have a good AFL career, he's got decent speed and good skills.
i'm sure the saints would have told him what he needs to work on, he's still young enough.

The Saints recruited Steele and Stevens (and have Freeman in the wings).

So there is the message to Templeton,

several Saints stories around this week

Steven Lawrence on his sacking
https://www.sen.com.au/news/2017/06/08/ ... -ex-saint/
+ audio

30 minutes in for about 30 min

Former St Kilda and Brisbane player Steven Lawrence has revealed the extraordinary circumstance he found out his career at St Kilda was over.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>
“The first I heard of getting sacked was walking into the gym and one of the fitness coaches told me I wasn’t welcome here.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
"...I went and reassessed my life, and thankfully I did because without that I wouldn’t have my three amazing kids.”

The son of club champion, Barry Lawrence, was disappointed but said he holds no grudges against the club and despite playing majority of his football at Brisbane – and being sacked by the Saints – he still considers himself a St Kilda person.

“I’m a Saints man. I had some great time there and I just love the place.”

a Story on a former Saint- and a coupel of more recent Saints

Image

puls imput from VAFA History page
Former St Kilda and 1967 Dandenong premiership player Alan Osborne in yesterday's Sunday Herald Sun.

*Osborne could play in a variety of positions, from forward, ruckman to back pocket. He spent just two seasons at St Kilda and made nine of his eleven appearances in the 1962 VFL season. A VFA representative in the 1966 Hobart Carnival, Osborne previously played for the league in 1961, 1964 and 1965. He was a premiership player at Dandenong in 1967 where he was charged, but exonerated, of kicking, in the Grand Final. *Wikipedia.

Allan was also named in the Redlegs team of the century.

Paul Amy‏ @PaulAmy375

Always good to see ex-league players putting into junior football. So well done to Trent Dennis-Lane, South Metro's youth coach of the year.

S'pose he counts as a former player although he didn't play an AFL game, Former St Kilda listed player Dan Markworth an RDFL premiership player for his junior club Macedon, breaking a 41 year old drought

Congrats Dan

Justin Plapp has changed jobs within the Melbourne system- back to Melbourne rather than being Casey coach.

Brodie's young boys are in Qld - makes sense.

Saw that. Only played three games for the saints though he played 17 for the dorks.

Don't think he played any senior games for the filth.

Rookie listed player at the end of 2003.

Smart guy though and has done well.
