Armo injury worse than expected.
Just announced on Ch7 that he has "bone hot spots" in addition to his groin injury.

Re: Armo injury worse than expected.
I'd actually hoped we'd have some more news on Jimmy and also what happened to Ed Phillips by now. No criticism intended, reckon the media department's had a few things on ...

? Was that for me?WellardSaint wrote:what does that mean?
I'm talking about other injuries as well as Armo's recovery - Jimmy's hand (is it smashed into a million tiny pieces or one clean break) whatever happened to Ed's leg at Sandy on Sunday, and the fact that our media department has been a bit busy with the phone ringing off the hook from "outraged" journos, 40K members and all.
Sorry if unclear ...

Then again, if you're taking about bone hot spots:

I think "not good".

Evidently it is like small fractures and he is to see a bone specialist tomorrow.

Stress fractures in back i think?WellardSaint wrote:what does that mean?
4-6 weeks.
Probably not long enough for LTI list transfer which is 8 weeks.
On the other hand. Why rush him back?

I remember Jack B had a "hot spot" in his shin. Again, not good.

Re: Armo injury worse than expected.
I figured it was always his dodgey back giving him grief. Bugger....
Re: Armo injury worse than expected.
Never heard of them but judging by the replies it's not good. Must be very upsetting given how up beat he was at the start of the season about finally being ready to go.

Re: Armo injury worse than expected.
Fast bowlers in cricket are said to have hot spots in their back. They are no stress fractures but could develop into stress fractures if left untreated. With the advancement in scanning medicos are picking up the injuries before they develop into an actual fracture. Hopefully it will mean weeks on the sidelines rather than months.

In Springfield, they're eating the dogs. The people that came in, they're eating the cats. They’re eating – they are eating the pets of the people that live there.

I would not be surprised he is written off the whole year to get his body right for the remainder of his contract..
His body seems to be falling apart!!

Just because you have got hot spots doesn't mean you are fully cooked.
The more you know, the more you know you don't know.

Now that I am old and know so much more, I know that I know so much about so little, and so little about so much.

and he was "managed" (oh, another word to add to 'positive', 'pleasing', and 'strong in the contest', not forgetting 'in that space')

Re: Armo injury worse than expected.
From the AFL app tonight:
"ST KILDA midfielder David Armitage faces the possibility of further surgery after a setback in his recovery from a groin operation.
Armitage, 28, is still in some discomfort after having adductor release surgery in late April.
He will see a specialist in the next few days, after which his return date will become apparent.
There is the possibility he will need to go under the knife again.
However, the Saints are adamant there is no concern he will miss the rest of the season."

I seem to recall Loewe having exactly that operation in an off-season, adductor release.SemperFidelis wrote:From the AFL app tonight:

He came back fine, AFAIK
I really hope the surgery will fix him once and for all...
