Can we please rest Rooboy
The big guy needs a spell. He really struggled for a lot of the game - used to his class to do a few nice things but is not covering the ground well at all and is struggling below his knees big time. We have a no. 1 pick power forward desperate for some senior game time. Richo has tendency to overplay some players *cough* Dunstain *cough* even through injury. Jesus play Paddy next week and give roo dog a break.

Give him a week off.
There is nothing to be gained from him playing all 22 games.
He should aim for 19 games in the H & A.
Time for a forced rest.

Agree that he should be managed.
give him regular spells...
Started the season like a house on fire... give him a spell and let him take that form into the finals!
Having him "get up for the next game" each week just seems silly when we can instead have him primed..

We are saying he is 34 and should be managed.

He should be managed based on sports science and his body.BigMart wrote:I can guarantee he'll play every game in Melb unless injured
Not geographic convenience.

He was good today, though well below his best.
Last week was the double 6 day break game he should have been rested from.

Re: Can we please rest Rooboy
Time for a rest... saints need to do what geelong did with Brad Ottens. Turn Roo into Mr September.
Make sure he is fit and ready to go in September.
Saints just need to work out how to win enough games to get there

Well his best was in 2004 when he was 22yo
He is now 34
I can tell you who'd be happy if he doesn't play vs Sydney - Longmire

I'd rest him on WB Match. Get a lot more recovery from 2 weeks of no games than 1 off 1 on them the bye. Essentially 3 week rest if they hold off 1 more week.
Plus I feel the Sydney game is ripe for us to pluck Sydney at etihad, more so than the dogs. Go in with the best team and at least split the next two games.
