Re: Hawks 1st round pick watch
The should be at least 3 changes to this year's top 8, so there's room for both us and Melbourne. It's better for us if they lose games, but on balance I want them to win this one.

HAWTHORN'S boom recruit Jaeger O'Meara may face several weeks on the sidelines with another bout of knee soreness.
O'Meara was a late withdrawal from the Hawks' clash with Melbourne at the MCG on Sunday, replaced by fellow midfielder Will Langford.
Hawthorn's football operations manager Jason Burt revealed the club was "hopeful" the issue would be resolved soon to allow O'Meara the chance to work his way back to full fitness.

Re: Hawks 1st round pick watch
Geez, they put a lot of eggs in the O'Meara basket...bad for them. However, don't rate Melbourne, the Hawks will win today, which is a shame, with Sydney's big win today #1 pick would have been back on the cards.

Don't know how the dees beat us.
They are f****** hopeless so far to date
They are making the hawks look good even.

We will rue losing that round 1 match. Shows what happens if you are not fully switched on each week.saynta wrote:Don't know how the dees beat us.

Re: Hawks 1st round pick watch
We added an all new dimension in f****** hopeless that day...absolutely insipid...now I have to face a throng of Dees supporters every week knowing they made us look like a joke. Not. Happy. We better absolutely smash them next time, our record against them at the MCG is okay in recent time, much more convincing performances on their ground.saynta wrote:Don't know how the dees beat us.

Melbourne look terrible today and making the Hawks look good.
I can't see them being a final 8 team.

A draw could be the answer ... we stay in the 8, Hawks hit the skids...

Re: Hawks 1st round pick watch
Melbourne's game plan has flaws as is "handball happy".
We should beat them easily as their game wouldn't stand up against pressure like we played on Friday night.

Melbourne had no clue how to win that game in the end. Very ordinary.

Re: Hawks 1st round pick watch
As much as I want Hawthorn to finish as low as possible I was going for Hawthorn passionately in that last quarter.
I find Melbourne repulsive, a smug group of pea heart players, and a lippy supporter group that spend there day booing umpires and giving lip to the opposition.

Re: Hawks 1st round pick watch
Melbourne were soft bumps.
They were simply not as desperate as St Kilda against the Hawks and Giants.
Soft bounce (soft centre bounce area resulting in toss ups) gave Gawn a massive advantage over Hickey.
Without those centre clearances, we may have had a chance against Melbourne.
Without Gawn they are soft Demons.

Re: Hawks 1st round pick watch
I also watched that game because I was with a mate who is a hawks fan.
Very insipid by both sides.
Hawthorn tried their best to lose but Melbourne were too bad to take advantage of it.
How in earth did Melbourne beat us?

We were just not switched on after quarter time when we thought it was all too easy.Con Gorozidis wrote:I also watched that game because I was with a mate who is a hawks fan.

If we had played like Friday night we would have won easily.

Well if we are being honest neither has he.
