This! We're expected to be up and down. We're still a bit up and down this year, but the gap is sooo much closer.Devilhead wrote:A lot of forumites here do not understand the concept of a DEVELOPING TEAM

What has not been mentioned is that we took it up to West Coast in Perth, we hammered Hawthorn in Launceston - Travel bug anyone?

A dominant midfield, with 9 players getting over 25 pos allowed Bruce to kick 3 easy goals.... and Frawley playing a disgusting game..
Actually all our forwards had a pretty easy day

Re: Match Thread Saints v Hawks Round 6 2017
Today absolutely confirmed what we already knew. End of an era for the Hawks. Fallen off a cliff. Absolute rabble. This is the way the comp is designed.
Also proves that coaches are over rated. Generally speaking it is players that make and break coaches. Was Clarko a genius or did he just have a great side?
Very enjoyable day. I was in Launie last year and we was robbed! So we owed the Hawks a few.

Much improved. The two hardest away games are now GWS and the CRows away.Sainter_Dad wrote:What has not been mentioned is that we took it up to West Coast in Perth, we hammered Hawthorn in Launceston - Travel bug anyone?

I was very pleased by Our midfield?!
Just don't think not spending 5 mins a quarter in the midfield had much of an effect

Our ins today played brilliantly. Just makes you wonder why they were not played earlier, especially Lonie being constantly played in front of Sinclair. Sinclair may have the best disposal in the team.

Sincs' disposal by foot steadily improved as the game wore on - like Stevens it took about a quarter for him to settle. Both were excellent contributors today.borderbarry wrote:Our ins today played brilliantly. And for the Richo critics, maybe he heard you because he didn't stick Sincs in the small forward pigeon hole.

I think Koby Stevens has taken so long due to the food poisoning before round 1. Sinclair came in when he started showing he was above the grade in VFL.

The biggest bonus ( apart fro the win ) was it was a very bruise free game. With a 6 day break it's mainly recovery this week but that game certainly wasn't a taxing one.

And GWS had a very physical game.tony74 wrote:The biggest bonus ( apart fro the win ) was it was a very bruise free game. With a 6 day break it's mainly recovery this week but that game certainly wasn't a taxing one.
The bulldogs also show us that they can be beaten with sustained pressure.
I give us a chance if we bring our best game and Greene should be out.

We know GWS will be without sniper Green, and there could be a few injuries too. Dont write us off yet.

Hugely satisfying win in front of their Tassie members and our Tassie members.
Really wanted to rub their faces in the dirt over so many years of dominance.
It's amazing what a big win does, I think we could serve it up to GWS on prime time TV!

Re: Match Thread Saints v Hawks Round 6 2017
Maybe it's just me but I sense that JB is emerging. The natives have been getting restless over Jack Billings not performing at the standard expected given that he was such a high draft pick but I think he's starting to put it together.
The kid is a class act and I've got no doubt he'll be the champ we want him to be. He's had 20 possessions the last two games and he's definitely committing himself to the contest a lot more - his tackle count is improving (4 today) and he's becoming more physical, an area of his game that has been disappointing.

Re: Match Thread Saints v Hawks Round 6 2017
Fifteen players had 20 possessions or more today. It's the first time we've had big numbers across the board, especially from our midfield. Sinclair and Stevens were both good contributors, with each bringing some difference to the mix. We didn't have that sameness we've been criticised for. And moving Gilbo into the ruck. First class thinking. We need more of this Richo and less of the conservative one. I think AR might be ready to break out the risky moves and selections more, now that we're getting a feel for what and who works best. Bring on the AFL's bastard love child!
I started with nothing and I've got most of it left!
