1 ?
Why why do we play down there? They would easy get 40k plus in melb.
Yes i know it is a hawks home game.... but what 3 years in a row... more?
It's Hawthorn's home game. I guess they may have opted to play us in Tassie. Considering our record there, I can't say I blame them for wanting to play us there.
Our record in Tassie is fine without being outstanding:
Won 6
Lost 7
2 of those losses include a draw where the points where awarded to Fremantle 48 hours after the game finished, and last years controversial loss to Hawthorn due to what were deemed to be incorrect free kicks, according to the umpiring review of the game, given against us in the last quarter.
We simply must win this week to keep our season alive and to snuff out all hope for the Hawks.
A loss would be utterly disastrous. This is an 8 point game.

We'll win on Saturday.

Absolutely spot on Con! We must keep our season close to on par wins:losses. I believe if we can get to the bye with an even ledger, we give ourselves a chance at making finals if we are good enough. There is a huge window this year for teams to break into the 8 with perenial finalists over the last 5 years; Hawks, North, Swans all coming from a long way back now. We will be battling with Port, Dees, Dons etc...we control our own destiny this year!

But we MUST rest players. That's more important five rounds into the season.
i am Melbourne Skies - sometimes Blue Skies, Grey Skies, even Partly Cloudy Skies.

Don't look now, but in another thread, Tony74 suggested Steele was due for a rest. Good grief! Round 6! I hope this strategy is based on some cutting edge, scientifically validated research that will give us an advantage. Not even a quarter of the way through the season. All for giving players a rest if they need it, but this seems a little too proactive. I wonder if Tom and Jack had a say in their "management".
I started with nothing and I've got most of it left!

The clouds parted today, and the sun shone brightly on the Saintly brigade.
All is right with the world.
