The Big Call Up for Koby?
With Tank Armitage out of action for the next month, surely this opens up a spot for Koby Stevens, right?
How has he been going at Sandy? There was a lot of confidence he'd be in our regular 22, was there not?

Head knock on the weekend, sat out the 2nd half, test for either level this week, Jamie Cox said.
But he should an automatic AFL senior selection...!

The selectors got it completely wrong not picking him against Cats when Armitage didn't come up.

I think he was recruited as a depth player.
I was never super impressed when he played for the dogs against us.
I would rather promote Sinclair.

I cant say I have seen 10 games of Koby Stevens closely to have a strong opinion of him as a footballer but I saw him at Sandy and he was a strong performer but didnt stand out like Minchington did. Sinclair and he are the two obvious(along with rookie Marshall) that are pushing their claim as senior players.

Re: The Big Call Up for Koby?
I don't think he would have left the dogs if our pitch to him was that he was seen purely as a depth player. I think when fit, he can be a good AFL player, and he has played some excellent games of footy at afl level when fit, but he hasn't had a good run with injury in the last couple of years so never got an uniterupted run at it.longtimesaint wrote:I think he was recruited as a depth player.

I reckon they said to him, we see you as best 22 if your injury free...now it's up to him to deliver.

Well if Steele has a rest as Tony indicated then Koby could come in.
Hickey and Sinclair for Longer and Long.

Re: The Big Call Up for Koby?
Probably unfair to call him up this week. But he is needed, especially if Steele has a spell (which looks like a decent idea ATM)
It sounded like a pretty heavy knock he copped, and it's common for players to be a bit sluggish after a concussion, even if all of the symptoms are gone.
If he does play, I'd like to think he has a couple of games grace before we turn on him....

I reckon Richo has ran out of patience with our midfield (well at least some of it) given his demeanor on AFL360. The selected team may be interesting.

No surprises.
Team pretty much picked itself.
Drop Steele?
You must be **** kidding.
