Re: Armo out for at least a month
I guess maybe this was something they should and could have done back in September or October last year.
He has clearly been playing sore for a long time.

But they said he's had his best pre season in years.Con Gorozidis wrote:I guess maybe this was something they should and could have done back in September or October last year.

I trust the club 100%.
Look how match fit we are and how well we've played out our last quarters.

Well armo was injured from April to September 2016.
Had a miraculous recovery from November 16 to February 17.
Injured from March 2017.
So maybe the club is telling us porkies

He should feel much better after a good groin release. Will be up and about pretty quickly.saintspremiers wrote:Shyte f*** c***!

Re: Armo out for at least a month
Seems unlikely now he'll return to his career best 2015 form. Perhaps his body is starting to just say "no, can't do this any more".
Re: Armo out for at least a month
gone from ready for a strong season, to groin issue, to pulled up sore, to a test and now to 4 weeks.

Best case
He can come back play a few games and get some currency for a trade.
His body is not up to it

We almost traded him to Tigerland at the end of the 2014 season. Not sure who would want him now.The Recruit wrote:Best case

Anyway, it's probably a wee bit too early to think trades at this stage. Better to get him back to health and hope that he'll be back to his old very serviceable self.

Re: Armo out for at least a month
In best 22 now but not the future - we have to get serious and play for the future now so i see opportunity for someone else.
“Yeah….nah””
Re: Armo out for at least a month
Id say he is best 22 only because he cracks in harder than everyone else. We are a bit soft tbh, all well and good we lay all these tackles but few seem willing to be in a position to be tackled like armo doesTeflon wrote:In best 22 now but not the future - we have to get serious and play for the future now so i see opportunity for someone else.

Re: Armo out for at least a month
At close to his best he is still better than Dunstan and Steele, but he's behind Seb and Jack Steven now, so if Steele or Dunny go up a gear in output and consistency, then he'd be borderline best 22, but thats ok, he is certainly not cooked! I'd be very surprised if he was back in a month. I'd be thinking post bye at best!!

Re: Armo out for at least a month
He is a player the club was willing to trade. This I know for a fact. It will be harder now after the back issue came to the media and now he has broken down. He may come back ready to play some good football after the rest. Let's hope so.

Re: Armo out for at least a month
It's not a groin release?
Is he looking for another inch.

Me too. But for me the 'up and about' part usually happens before, not after.White Winmar wrote:I know I always feel better after a good groin release"8856brother wrote:He should feel much better after a good groin release. Will be up and about pretty quickly.saintspremiers wrote:Shyte f*** c***!

Steele is only 21, so he has room to improve.Saint wagga wrote:At close to his best he is still better than Dunstan and Steele, but he's behind Seb and Jack Steven now, so if Steele or Dunny go up a gear in output and consistency, then he'd be borderline best 22, but thats ok, he is certainly not cooked! Dunstan is only 11 months older, but he's racked up 58 games, and he's only got one flamin' gear

Re: Armo out for at least a month
Armitage is a loss because our developed midfield depth is so shallow. If anything it should force Richo to play and develop other players and that is a positive. However there is a strong chance Richo will just replace Armitage with Koby Stevens and go back to the same lack of rotations he has since his time at the club.WellardSaint wrote:Steele is only 21, so he has room to improve.Saint wagga wrote:At close to his best he is still better than Dunstan and Steele, but he's behind Seb and Jack Steven now, so if Steele or Dunny go up a gear in output and consistency, then he'd be borderline best 22, but thats ok, he is certainly not cooked! You are totally correct about Dunstan its almost as if the game has become too quick for him. He needs a break from AFL to freshen up and reset in the VFL lets hope he gets it. Seb Ross was very similiar in running capacities to Luke when he started and he is doing well now - so there scope for him to develop. Having said that Seb is still not quick just has a greater aerobic capacity and whether the one midfield can carry so many slow players has been shown to be a major weakness this year.
