Except, I think the guy is a real creep and not a good guy at all.
I heard a replay of that segment. A Sainta actually rang in, and put forward some of the arguments expressed above.
The Moon-man then changed his rating of Seb's game, and declared it the best midfielder's game of the round.
So we can cut him some slack, at least this time.

there's daylight between dwayne russell and BT for horrible commentating.
Cam lost me in his early days of reporting on the radio, not long after his retirement. He was talking about how much greater Nick R may have been if he'd been fed by Geelong's, rather than our midfield. That really put me off. There is no doubt that Banger, Aussie, Lenny, Dal, BJ, Joey etc. had (or have!) exquisite skills, by foot and hand. Further, Nick has never been anything like a stationary target (relying on being fed). He has been / is an incredible running machine. I doubt there has ever been a CHF who has covered as much ground as Nick over the journey. Needless to say, he has had some great team mates as well.

I hate BT and if it's not a Saints game on TV, I change channels rather than watch his shyte at the end
I did watch him wandering our rooms when he showed Baroose's foot tattoos, but only because it was our team
He gets the call wrong so many times, once he called Newnes' name when Billings was kicking for goal on the run
He's mixed up Sincs and Koby, not sure how stupid he has to be to get them mixed up

Mooney is a knob, so we don't take any notice of that. BUT, what frustrates me is when our players get a load of possessions and everyone thinks they are playing awesome, when half the possessions are crap, poor delivery or poor skills. This doesn't equal good play in my book.

Richo's interview before flying out- he mentioned the first qtr in the WCE game, we had 14 inside 50's to 4.
See, we keep bombing it in, like "kick and hope" of junior footy.
Just keep pumping it in, and eventually you'll get a score.

I agree with you. It's a 'boy's club' and they're good at looking after each other's backs, covering fo their deficiencies, pumping each other's egos, showing a humble, 'good bloke' side when on the air but in private it's about status and greed. Watching the Daniher brothers the other night reinforced how much our current footballers have changed. They think it is their god given right to live an elite, rich and famous lifestyle and expect to be well beyond the level of the average Aussie.

Wow, I must be more tolerant than some of you, because I find Ling relatively sensible. Likewise Richo. It's BT I can't abide: he's rather like Rex Hunt without the endearing characteristics...in other words, rather like Rex Hunt. And, even though Carey often makes quite sensible comments, I just can't stand him on principle.
However, for me, Tim Lane was the all-time worst. While many on this forum like to claim, incorrectly, that all the commentators are biased against the Saints: Lane really was quite openly and ludicrously biased against us.
But, at least he had the good grace to father Samantha, who IMO is terrific (in all respects).
