Was unnecessary, the kick was long gone and while he couldn't prevent contact he still could have slowed up, instead he leant more into it to maximize damage.prwilkinson wrote:Still completely within the rules. Gees, it was some heavy work though. Cloke is a huge man.maverick wrote:That hit was far from tough

Confirmed that it's going to mrp and Cloke has broken ribs, set to miss 4-6 weeks

Re: Ziebell Is a Dirty Dog
Funny game these days. You can be backing back into a pack like Aaron Sandilands with no way of protecting yourself, get completely split open by Nic Nat coming the other way... break 6 ribs and puncture a lung.... Out for the season. Even played today with padding still underneath his jumper. Didn't even get looked at.... BUT if you bumppppp.... even if it's right down the chest without hitting them in the head... apparently something you're still allowed to do... HOW DARE YOU!!!Griggsy wrote:Was unnecessary, the kick was long gone and while he couldn't prevent contact he still could have slowed up, instead he leant more into it to maximize damage.prwilkinson wrote:Still completely within the rules. Re: Ziebell Is a Dirty Dog
Thought he was half a second within the rules
Half second earlier he would have knocked cloke off his kick
Normal speed replay it looks ok - now over to MRP to judge

Yeap, very tough Rocket Rod, nearly got me once, at training mind you, very quite man Rod, those quite ones are normally the toughest once they cross the white line!!!!!prwilkinson wrote:Good old Rod... Re: Ziebell Is a Dirty Dog
Haha all this talk has me thinking about a time I got split open from someone coming straight at me... one of those ones that you know you're going to get hit but you get the kick on anyway... swear to god I still have a rib near my sternum that still slightly sticks out because of that hit. Just healed that way.stonecold wrote:Yeap, very tough Rocket Rod, nearly got me once, at training mind you, very quite man Rod, those quite ones are normally the toughest once they cross the white line!!!!!prwilkinson wrote:Good old Rod... Rod had that ability to quickly pick up pace over a short distance, shoulder tucked in and BAM! Cop that!

Re: Ziebell Is a Dirty Dog
What
A late hit after someone kicked it... very tough indeed!
Being a superstar yourself, you'd know, taking a guy out in the act of kicking is the easiest thing to do in the game.
It's legal, it happens, it requires no toughness.

As I said before Ted, happy to come and play in your game or at least be privileged enough to come and watch a legend like you go round, but, to this point you refused my offer!!!!!

Because I want absolutely nothing to do with you or have nothing to prove to you
I am not 12 years old or after your respect/approval/validation...
Fact is I don't care about anything you want or think... told you, you are completely irrelevant to me...

Re: Ziebell Is a Dirty Dog
I thought there must've been another incident between these two players because the one I saw was a North player running as fast as he could over open space to put pressure on a player setting up a goal in the final minutes of a close game.
He was given a free kick down the ground and that's sufficient in my opinion.
If Cloke got up and was fine then no one would be talking about this.

Still think it was a cheap shot irrespective of the injury
If he tried to smother the ball it might have saved the game
He has a history of being gutless

He's not a dirty dog, he's a dirty roo.
In Springfield, they're eating the dogs. The people that came in, they're eating the cats. They’re eating – they are eating the pets of the people that live there.

Re: Ziebell Is a Dirty Dog
Do we really want to see players taken out for 6 weeks at a time when another player targets their ribs in a "legal" bump?
Are we happy with that?

Yeap, have no problem with it, same today with Gibson on Ruggles, it's footy, AFL, not AFLW!!!!!Enrico_Misso wrote:Do we really want to see players taken out for 6 weeks at a time when another player targets their ribs in a "legal" bump?
