Deja Vu
Surely this must be the AFL's attempt at a joke, according to the AFL team list for this weeks game against the Lions, we have been allocated the same 3 umpires from last weeks Eagles fiasco, namely Messrs Donlon, O'Gorman and Harris.
Unless it is a misprint, given it is our home game, I can only hope we as a Group can show our appreciation of their performance last round with a rousing greeting when they enter the area pre-game,

Re: Deja Vu
As I've written in another thread, Apples. The AFL is a pantomime, with entertainment being the main goal. I wouldn't be surprised if this is deliberate. Nothing the clowns at HQ are capable of doing surprises me anymore. Standby for another reaming. I'd be stretching and loosening the hamstrings now, in preparation for being bent over all afternoon.
I started with nothing and I've got most of it left!

I'm with apples on this one. Staggering that the same umpires could be assigned a saints game together again. I hope the supporters give them a warm reception when they come out onto the ground.
and that's the bottom line

Every time I've watched these umpires together, they favour the home team. Nothing to worry about.

Where's Plugger66 when you need him.
"Umpires dont effect the result. If I have to explain this again it shows how dum you folk mus be.
My next door neighbours are Darrel Baldok and Stan Elves. Ken Sheldons daughter married my son"
The spelling mistakes are intentional- it's his way.
Watch for missed 50m penalties.
Deliberate out of bounds.
Our forwards to be scragged and play on called.
Our defenders to give away frees in front of goal for standing too close to a Lion.

Can see it now.
Maybe if we get heavily favoured and win comfortably we should complain again about the umps.
Complain about fairness and not just pandering to the media.

In a past era this would of been an opportunity to give them hell as they enter the ground.Fast forward to today, one guy will boo them as they enter the ground and he will be kicked out by ground staff after 200 fellow supporters texted the anti social number
Bring back the Lockett era

all the other games, the umps have been rotated and aren't umpiring the same team as last week,
and in a different combo.
We're the only ones being targeted

The crooks reviewed the Perth game and saw no problems.
Giving us a nice ride will give ammo to all those who blamed the umps.
p.s. A brilliant post in this forum about the AFL business model makes me believe these umps
are hand-picked to assist a Brisbane win.
Qld is a strong rugby state, and AFL fans are fickle there- despite their 3-peat flags, their fans dropped off fairly quickly.
They have 20,000 members currently. (from their facebook page)
AFL need Lions to get this win, to get fans into Lions' next home game, for ratings, and to punish our club.

Re: Deja Vu
IMO
The umpires got spooked BADLY in the first half last week.
It wasnt delibrete they let their human nature get the better of em. And it would be hard 40,000 screaming for blood you dont want to dissapoint.
They got a rousing IMO by the umpires coach/captian and they were better in the second half apart from the push in the back.
I just wish theyd admit it. To say there was no problem was ridiculous. They dropped balls many times and wasnt called. The delibrete on steven was a joke. They looked after WCE in the clearances and not us. Even though we smashed em.
Good news is we were brilliant. IMO this team is on the right track. Players like dunstan, and lonie very underated.
ALSO WHY THE HELL havent the media mentioned we had no bench after 1/4 time in round 1?
Melbourne getting all this glory from beating 17 players and nearly losing to carlton. Theyll get pumped in geelong this week.

Re: Deja Vu
Actually Aaron - I believe that the AFL likes to keep the umpires together in a group - so the landing of all three is not a coincidence - but to get any of the three is a kick in the teeth. There may be a lopsided free kick count, there may not - but the AFL has said in words that even I can understand "Your supporters have raised the issue of these umpires through Radio, print and Social media however we have but one thing to point out to you all ......"aaron82 wrote:I'm with apples on this one. Donlon, O'Gorman, Harris.

they didnt and they didnt win
Brisbane Statistic Essendon
25 Frees For 27
27 Frees Against 25

Webster and Wright both concussed heavily. Hence Wright "omitted".
Armo did his groin
There was another midfielder who went down as well blank atm.
In any event we were smashing em and to think we just stopped and let em run the wings like that do you really think we would do that if fit??
The media spin absolute crap. All the winners of the round are finals bound and all the losers need to rebuild. Its a joke
Weve played top 4 footy for 4.5 quarters this year but no ines talking about it because of WL record. No insight at all. 2018 saints will be ridicuously good (like the dogs are now)

Seriously for Round 3 the banner should allude to the umpiring last week.
