Webster
I have been a staunch supporter and advocate for Jimmy since he arrived at the club 5 years ago.
But last night sent me in a spin. Just not good enough. Sure he is very courageous and fast but too many mistakes. He has played 52 games. No excuses for the large number of clangers, shanks, falling over, skills errors, poor decisions.
I'd like to see us get games in to DMac and White.
I think we are treading water with Savage & Webster.
Treading water.

Re: Webster
Have to disagree Con! I thought he was very good last night! Savage isn't a good enough defender imo but jimmy has that stopping mongrel in him, I think his offensive descion making needs too but can improve! Geez the return to being a team in contention has really sharpened opinions and polarised too! I for one feel very guilty of this so far!!

Re: Webster
I'm not convinced either - I think his kicking is overrated. Yes it's flat hard and fast, but efficiency isn't what it should be.
Still , he's A better option than Savage who is struggling big time at the moment.

Re: Webster
Continually used as a shut down player across half back, but he tends to get caught out trying to cover blokes like Montagna and Roberton's players while they're off cheating and always appears to be rushed when disposing of it.. If he was given the time a space these 2 get, his efficiency rate would be much better.

I have often wondered about that.
Robo, Montagna and Gilbert all seem to be the loose man in defence.
Leaves Geary, Webster and Savage to have to cover all the small fwds and all the midfielders streaming down...

Made some dumb decisions yesterday. I wonder if these blokes do any brain training. Do they all eat plenty of fish or take fish oil supplements? How closely is their daily diet scrutinised?

Re: Webster
Jimmy makes poor decisions under pressure but seems to be a good shut down player
who runs hard and gives his all for the team, but is unable to hit a target on the run.
Coaches see value in him, or he wouldn't be there.
I think he's just treading water until DMac has more polish

Can't understand the love for autumn leaves. A poor man's DMac. Play White ahead of him as well. Is he one of AR's favoured "role players". Beware AR. Don't become Lyon 2.0. See how he's going?

Webster is one of our "rabbit in the headlight" players like Gilbert, Geary and Savage.. when the pressure is directly on them, they cough it up with panic disposal.

What did Le Cras do on Saturday might??
f*** all I tell you!
I like Webster. He is tough runs in straight lines and has got good penetration on his kicks. He will only get better.

Re: Webster
He made one or two bad errors but that happens. Apart from that he was good.
It's funny how we jump on our own after one game. Last week Lonie wasn't up to AFL standard after making a few errors. Those people have gone quiet after he was brilliant this week.
Mistakes happen but it's the whole package that counts. Jimmy is the exact player type we want, aggressive, good kick, personally I'm rapt to see him in the team and I doubt he'll lose his spot this year.

Re: Webster
I reckon he's hard at it, but he des make poor decisions and his kicking is inconsistent at best. Hardly the type we need attacking off half back. Give me DMac over him any time.
