Who would he push out of a spot at Dogs or GWS?
Biggs
Daniel
Suckling
Lin Jong

Just from Friday nights game.
Biggs - Doubtful. Completely different position and type of player.
Daniel - No.
Suckling - Yeah probably
Lin Jong - Has had 21 tackles in 2 games! 2 games! So no.
He is far better than Daniel let's not be stupid. Biggs is ordinary and you'd play Billings over Jong.
21 tackles in two games so far. So yes i would pick Jong ahead of him.

Biggs is a dour defender like Geary. So who knows. Not sure it is a good comparison.

And no he isnt 'far better' than Daniel. Daniel finished 7th in the B and F in a premiership year. Billings didnt make top 11 in a middling side.
I am talking about actual performance - not 'potential'.

Beveridge wouldn't

That's why he's a premiership coach, he drops underperforming players

McQualter was fantastic for us in 2009. Think about that.

I have thought about it. McQualter truly sucked. How do you define 'fantastic'?
You must have rose coloured glasses on heavy tint.

Daniel had 24 disposals in a prelim - aged 20. Ffs.

Look at his numbers very impressive playing his role. Daniel played a role but Billings would have played it far better.

Woulda shoulda coulda.

I just looked at his number they werent 'fantastic. They were below average.

What was his 'role'? Not touching the ball? Filling space? Water boy?

I repeat - Daniel had 24 disposals, a goal and 4 tackles in a Prelim at aged 20 - interstate.

Mcqualter averaged 12 disposals in his entire s*** career - in a very good side. Daniel already averages 20.

You are fantasising and re-writing history.
Your argument is horribly flawed and yet you double down on a lost cause.
Why?

The point is Con everything went well for Daniel last season his team was flying and he like McQualter played well while everything was in there favour. The thing is even though McQualter played his role we would have improved by playing a better player just like the WB would be better with Billings over Daniel.

Billings is better than McQualter. NO arguments there.

Daniel was 7th in the B & F. This is simply a fact.
He dominated a close final interstate. This is simply a fact.

According to your theory - because the Dogs were flying (they finished the regular season 7th) - it was easy to get a top 7 finish in the B & F. A piece of cake!
Even though he finished ahead of Matthew Boyd and Jason Johannisen.
But apparently finishing 7th in a good side is really easy and anyone can do it?
This is absurd!

The reality is McQualter never even would have got a single game at the Dogs. NOt a single game. Because he wasnt good enough.

He also played 24 games Con only kicked 11 goals while McQualter kicked 22. Your missing point anyway. McQualter like Daniel performed well in a good team but the team would play better with superior players like Billings. You have some very selective comparisons by the way JJ missed plenty of footy.
