Re: Match thread v Eagles
Our effort was good enough to win.
But our goalkicking was poor. Particularly in that first half when we were dominating.
We also had way to many errant balls when we were running forward.
We just needed to have been that bit cleaner , and better users of the ball and the game would have been ours.

Oh, it was better than that. Savage's hands were under the west coast players arms when he maneuvered him out of the way and had the free paid against him for hands in the back.
Then Kennedy just goes with the blatant push and it's a mark.

Great effort Saints. Ran out of gas in the last and those misses came back to burn us.
Gee Brown did well, pushed out in the one marking contest he lost to Kennedy. Roberton another impressive game, Dunstan should silence the doubters for another week at least, as should Lonie. Very unlucky, we'll get better and be winning those ones soon enough.

It was the Saints that kicked 13-19, not the Umpires, that's why we lost.
It's the guys having a shot on goal that can't hit the side of a barn..

The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

I get canned by CURLY om another thread by making an honest appraisal of Billings' game tonight. Con I agree with you mate. Billings is a soft outside player and tonight he was very poor again.

Technically we kicked 14-18 but it got reversed. There were a lot of rushed behinds too. If you dont think the umpires impacted on that game then you need glasses. Yep we needed to kick straighter but we fought so hard to get the ball down there we were prob too stuffed to kick straightWayne42 wrote:It was the Saints that kicked 13-19, not the Umpires, that's why we lost.

Something about this game reminded me of our loss to Port last year. Had them by the scruff of neck, but just couldn't slam the door shut on them.

Why did the umpire give Kenedy a penalty when he got pushed and the saints didn't. F***ing cheaters.

Billings created two goals out of nothing but just continue your rant. He got burnt at least five times in great positions also.SuperSaint wrote:Saint_J wrote:footy is a hard biz, watched the bont on friday night. Apparently will be discussing the free kick count on afl central tomorrow - cumulative free kicks in last five eagles - saints games at domain -114-60.

Forget the insults, if we kicked straight the Umps wouldn't have counted.mullet wrote:Technically we kicked 14-18 but it got reversed. There were a lot of rushed behinds too. Re: Match thread v Eagles
Can we get anymore screwed than 23-8 in a game that we were in up to our eyeballs? And if we can - does it really matter if we do - the umpires stole this game from us!!!mullet wrote:Con what do you think will happen if we say something? And before you all scream at me for 13-19, please consider this 0-121 beats 20-0, but does not beat 21-0, so if the umpires 'gift' even 1 goal then they have impacted the game!

We haven't whinged since Grant Thomas's "egos in the locker" comment. It doesn't change. Time to take the bastards on. Get the football world looking. Even North Melbourne get a fairer go than us after Scott's efforts last year.mullet wrote:Con what do you think will happen if we say something? I very biased but I didn't think that it was conclusive enough to overturn the umpires decision. Grainy footage zoomed in and very little movement if any
