Hawthorn were a rabble when... they had two brief periods near the bottom in

The merger was a result of people in power putting forward a strategy... it failed

Let's look at this club that nearly folded and seems to go alright now

Premiers
61, 71, 76, 78, 83, 86, 88, 89, 91, 08, 13, 14, 15
Runners Up
63 , 75, 84, 85, 87, 12

19 Grandfinals since 1961
13 Premierships
6 Runner Ups

Extraordinary

Culture of success, steeped in premiership history, remarkable

Western Bulldogs showed that previous history have nothing to do with the current success or failure of any club otherwise the Tigers would have kept winning in the 80's or Carlton currently.

A cukture of success that was built on our zone that they were given in the early 70s.

Let's be honest

Everything they have done since 2006 has been far better than what we've done, off field, on field, recruiting, coaching, membership, development, vfl.

Geelong, Sydney, Hawthorn

Extraordinary in this decade, for their sustained success.

We have a horrible history, that's undeniable, really we should be on the TV show of the same name.... at some point it should turn, but until then, we carry around a culture of mediocrity or worse
Aren't we called the Aints?

Melbourne.

Hawthorn had no success before 61.

Now his pointing out the obvious to piss people off. He sometimes has no idea.

Are we arguing that we don't have a unenviable history?

Our culture of self destruction, missed opportunities, hard luck stories, mediocrity and lack of success is almost unparalleled in not just the AFL but in world sport

1 premiership
27 wooden spoons

I mean, come on... if that history isn't a burden in anyway... I'll go hee...

No! That was Ed Kuepper's band after he left The Saints.
