Eli Templeton for Port Melbourne? The ex-Saint would be a fine addition to the Borough ranks. Had a v good 2016 at Sandringham.

another of the 2016 St Kilda list finds a home
Paul Amy ‏@PaulAmy375
Big get for Sandringham: ex-Saint Tom Curren has committed to the Zebras, where he won the 2012 b&f as a rookie. Casey was very keen too.
will be a great mentor to young players on Saints list and who ever Sandy pick up

Word I hear is Beauie not happy with Schneids this year going off and playing for the highest bidder! He only played about three games for Beauie.

Sneids was announced Beauie's coach a while ago. Great mentor last year to the lads and played a ripper GF. Forget the stats and 3 goals it was his knock-ons which made such a difference. His rapport with the team is great. I suspect his relationship with admin must be good also to be announced coach.

Ex-Saint Brodie Murdoch likely to play in the VFL in 2017. And fair chance it will be at Port Melbourne under Gary Ayres. Had 22 AFL games.

Fergus Watts has kicked on ok-
saw a snippett about him buying a little pad down the bay ( $2 mill+) recently and how his business has expanded into the UK
http://www.news.com.au/finance/real-est ... 1e83b9f7c1
THE founder of one of Australia’s largest privately-owned communications companies is headed for a multi-million dollar Mornington Peninsula treechange.
Bastion Collective boss and ex-AFL listed player Fergus Watts has secured a sprawling 6ha property at 484 Mornington-Tyabb Rd, Moorooduc, for $2.15 million.
>>>>>>>He and his fiancee have lived in London for the past 12 months and were based in St Kilda prior to that, where his AFL career drew to a close.
“We own an apartment in St Kilda that I’ll be putting on the market in February,” Watts said.
then found this article
http://www.smartcompany.com.au/entrepre ... ollective/
My sporting background prepared me for immense failure.

I was a first draft pick twice. I was pick 14 to the Crows, trading to 15 or 16 for the Saints.

I should have been much better than I was, but I wasn’t. So it was a very public failure in a career I had dreamed of as a kid.

So failing becomes an easier proposition after that because you’ve done it in a reasonably public platform.
http://www.afr.com/leadership/entrepren ... 426-gof7b5

Bastion Collective is on a fierce growth trajectory, expecting a turnover of $20 million this year – up from $10 million last year thanks to a couple of business acquisitions, the start up of a reputation management division and organic growth of about 40 per cent (compared with last year).

Watts also moved to London six months ago to open up an office and says the launch of the UK arm has gone well. It employs 12 people, with clients including Transport For London, Powerboat P1, Orica GreenEDGE, and Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park.

The company is structured as a collection of eight separate businesses, each with its own leadership team and CEOs who have an ownership stake of about 20 per cent in their business.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Watts freely admits he has an unlikely background as the CEO of the marketing group: he was an injury-plagued AFL player for the Adelaide Crows, whose formal education finished at high school.

"I had a lot of disappointment in my career. I never went to university and I am not qualified beyond high school and, for me, the best 'degree' I have ever done was the development of my emotional intelligence."

An understanding of his own limitations has encouraged him to surround himself with high performers. A year after launching the company, he brought in his father, Jim Watts (former St Kilda CEO and founder of human resource consulting firm Hamilton Watts International). Jim is now chairman of Bastion Collective.

"I brought my dad in about 12 months after [the birth of the company]. I was 23 at the time and, having come out of football, I could barely send an email and didn't really know anything about anything.

"I needed a little bit of 'grey hair' and a little bit of guidance. So I asked my old man to be part of the business."

In 2014, former AFL chief executive Andrew Demetriou joined the company as director and Watts's brother Jack started up a sponsorship business within the company.

Yes good on Fergus but it does help when you have a wealthy father to back you up.
