Mitch Brown from WCE
Delisted and heading to Vic. Are we going to reunite him with his twin and make them the new Wakelins?

Shame we did not get him a couple of years ago from his perspective.

Can we not just pay him on the side and keep him fit to play him in Nath's number if Nath got injured?

I reckon we should get Mitch as well as when Nathan is injured Mitch plays and vice versa.

Are they identical twins or just born at almost the same time.St Ick wrote:Can we not just pay him on the side and keep him fit to play him in Nath's number if Nath got injured?
The more you know, the more you know you don't know.

Now that I am old and know so much more, I know that I know so much about so little, and so little about so much.

Maybe this is the family being reunited that Jaxons et al were referring to a couple of weeks back?

And to think we nearly gave up 2 x 2nd round picks. We dodged a bullet and WCE should be kicking themselves.

Mmm i don't think that's true. From memory, that's what they wanted. I don't think we ever really entertained it.Zed wrote:And to think we nearly gave up 2 x 2nd round picks. We dodged a bullet and WCE should be kicking themselves.

Re: Mitch Brown from WCE
They are "identical" twins. Perhaps we should get both just in case one, who is playing best, gets reported and we can blame the other to get him off. Some may recall that Alastair Lord of Geelong won the Brownlow (easily) in 1962 even though he was reported and should have been rubbed out. At the Tribunal, they claimed it was his twin (Stewart) which of course it wasn't but the Tribunal thought otherwise, and rubbed out Stewart.

"What St Kilda is prepared to offer for Mitch Brown is Jamie Cripps and pick 25 and I think that's fair. West Coast don't think that's fair," he told AFL Trade Radio.

We wanted to do that, but WC were adament that Cripps was not attached to a Brown deal.ausfatcat wrote:skeptic wrote:Mmm i don't think that's true. From memory, that's what they wanted. We got desperate, offered up 24 and 25 as long as WC could get their hands on Hooker (or perhaps Pears was discussed too) but Hooker didn't want to move so the deal fell through.

The same Brown that later on said thank god he didn't go to the Saints?
Pretty sure that was the quote from an article a year or two back!

Re: Mitch Brown from WCE
I think this is right, except I'm pretty sure it was Pears rather than Hooker they were asking for… silly of Pears not to go in the end as he barely played AFL football since. Geelong were also involved at one stage, they were going to give us their first round (pick 16) for our 24 & 25… thank god that deal fell over, but then again Wright & White who we ended up with is looking pretty unfulfilling at this stage.St Ick wrote:We wanted to do that, but WC were adament that Cripps was not attached to a Brown deal.

Surely we won't go for another one-dimensional, monster full back with average skills? One Brown is more than enough.
