Let me repost it with the two corrections

After adjustments for free agency and priority picks we played with
Pick 10 (1395pts)
Pick 50 (273 pts)
Pick 68 (59 pts)
2017 St Kilda 2nd round pick

We came out with
Jack Steele
Nathan Brown
Koby Stevens
Pick 23 (815pts)
Pick 36 (502pts)
Pick 61 (135pts)
2017 Hawthorn 1st round pick
2017 Bulldogs 4th round pick.

Switching a 2017 second rounder for a 2017 first rounder & 2017 fourth rounder for a mere 275 point loss (worth pick 50), brilliant .
Oh I nearly forgot they also collected Jack Steele, Nathan Brown and Koby Stevens as icing on top.

Fantastic win by our trading team, congratulations.

Now they have to execute on those two second round draft picks to realise their gains.

Again they did better than most!!!!!

B&F and B&F runner up out, and Hill out.

In return they get Vickery, Mitchell and O'Meara.

And, they've got f*** all in the next 2 drafts too!

I'd say they haven't done very well at all.

And if O'Meara doesn't perform, they've completely bombed.

The big deal that did not get done is Bryce Gibbs from Carlton to Adelaide, he will have to suffer for up to 3 years on his contract at Carlton as they tank for draft picks yet again.
Jonathan Marsh of Collingwood could not get enough interest out of W.A. to find his way home.
Xavier Richards left it too late to gather interest to get him out of Sydney.

I am thrilled! Ripper trade period, now onto the optimism of the draft and the sadness of delisting some more players.

I wouldnt be praising Carlton too much.
I still reckon their list is no good and SOS is clueless.
Besides recruiting people from GWS he is useless.
Will end up being a classic 'favourite son' scenario.

I am very pleased with how we traded.

O'Meara trade still not showing up on the AFL trade tracker.
How fantastic would it be if the AFL rejects it on a technicality.
But I suspect it is a complicated trade including other clubs so that Hawthorn could gather those two second round picks from elsewhere.

As someone stated... this trading furutre picks is like buying a ferrarri one year saying youll pay next but then next year comes and you put off that payment another year and this just goes on ... so why are we paying for our ferraris now, infact we have two bills and no ferari.
Think about it Hawks simply trade 2018 first round next draft. We need to get massive fish or two in 2017 then start doing this!!

I think you will find it was SOS who gathered that great team together at GWS with the charity they received from the AFL while Gold Coast with almost identical charity are a basket case.

Went for pick 10 and next year's 2nd round pick.

So Hawthorn have no 1st round this year, and no 1st or 2nd round next year!

And lost their top 2 in the B&F!

I don't think they have a 2nd or 3rd rounder this year either?

Hawks first pick in this draft is 88 - the pick they got for Sam Mitchell....

He had 11 of the first 14 picks in 2011! Hardly required a genius!
In 2012 O'Rourke and Plowman were top 3 bombs
From his 2014 lot - Pickett, Ahern and Marchbank have already left.

Too early to call it - but he is no mastermind imo. Will fail at Carlton.

Will take some kind of virus or plane crash to stop GWS winning the flag in 2017.

If we can poach a gun from them in 2018 (Kelly or Shiel) we should be well placed for a real crack in 2018.

I was just pointing out that he has done a much better job at GWS than the guys at Gold Coast.

But I have to agree SOS has stuffed up big time this year.
He has given away GWS 2017 second round pick probably worth pick 37 (483pts) if GWS comes 3rd again
for 2016 picks 48(302pts) 66(80pts) & 70(39pts) = 421 points worth pick 40.
Hey folks SOS is convinced GWS is going to be premiers in 2017.

There have been two very unequal pick deals both involving Hawthorn.
One favours us and the other slaughters Carlton.
I hope there are no illegal IOUs involved.

So when GWS win a flag and Carlton finish bottom 6.
GWS will get pick 6 in the draft. Nice.

Thumbs up from me!
Steele + two decent picks this year and two good picks up our sleeve next year.
That is 5 chances and should get us 3 guns.

So effectively, we get Brown, Steele, and Stevens for one second round pick. Nice work, Mr Bains

I'm banking on the Hawks missing the finals next year and for us to hover around the same position, which should give us two picks inside the top 10 for the 2017 draft. That would be very nice indeed

In all honesty it says more about the Sun's ability to screw up the gift that was given to them.
It's hard to bugger up a team when you've been given that much assistance. But the Suns have done a magnificent job. Probably paid Ablett too much.
