Do you know if St Kilda will be shutting up shop for the rest of the trade period Jaxons? Any clues at all to the plans surrounding the two 2017 first rounders the club now has tucked up it's sleeve? Are we now waiting for another club to come to us with some sort of dealski?

Totally agree. We have Acres and a million inside mids now. Fyfe up forward isnt like freo we have membrey mccartin bruce. Acres could well be the next fyfe anyway. WE NEED RUN/tall winger. Lets get Scrimshaw in draft (we'll get pick 6-10) hes 193cm bontempelli!! Love the way he reads play, his skills and height.

Josh Kelly should be our target. He is perfect for us. Great skills and run. Can do it all.

Still interested in getting back into first round of this draft.
Hmmm

Put picks 23(815) and 36(502) together = 1317pts closest to pick 11
Allow another 50 points for points slippages it could be valued at pick 10
You know our pick that will end up at Gold Coast, very ironic for Hawthorn
But Gold Coast is only interested in top end draft picks.
Pick 36 would not be required by them.

North have 11, West Coast 12, Adelaide 13, Sydney 14
Offer them to Sydney for pick 14(1161pts) =>156pts lost
The pick Hawthorn gave to Sydney for Mitchell Mk2
How ironic would that be.
But it is not so good when you allow pick 14 to slip to maybe 17 and 23 to slip to 26
Pick 17(1025pts) versus Pick26(729pts) + Pick 36(502pts) = 1231pts =>206pts lost

Other way to get back into the first round is to package either pick 23 or pick 36 with a player.
But then that player has to be worth a second round draft pick.
That means someone from our best 22.
Do we really want to do that.
I think our best 22 players are happy at the Saints.
No-one throwing tantrums wanting to leave.

You do make it difficult to read this forum. Either you are trying too hard to be relevant yourself or you are putting the hard word on Jaxons - either way its nauseating and I hope it won't push away the real ITKs.

As for the little news, its time to sit back and let a few deals fall.

We know that we are trying for a pick swap and potentially a trade or two for fringes, but we can't and won't be told of said pick swaps until they happen. Note a fair bit of activity needs to go down first because most clubs don't know what picks they have or will have over the next few days.

Hmmm
The other way to get back into the first is to trade out hawthorn first to one of the expansion clubs.
Regardless of points a next years first rounder might be of more value to them. Better for their list management etc. Our aim is supposedly to get inside 8.

However

StCicatriz
i think pick 5 is obtainable:
1) we are the only side with a future 1st rounder, thus there is a premium on 1st rounders next year,
2) GWS like to keep their presence in the first round going,
3) GWS are the type of side that risk betting on a side for their pick to fall back,
4) first round players have a higher base. they take on more, then up goes their cap slightly,
5) they get points to claim their academy players,
6) pick 5 gives us a really really good player

Moorabbin Ghost

While that is all a possibility, we might currently be trying another avenue. There's a kid we want that will require a high pick in this draft.
Overtime put in by Saints this weekend trying to get a grip on how things may need to line up.
But, as in your scenario we are waiting on a trade (two actually) to eventuate before we can really start to go down this path

Carlton holding everyone up

Either way a lot still to go.. Just when you think its all over

Patience, grasshopper. Even if Ameet and trout themselves were posting on here, they'd get more calls wrong, than right. IIRC, Bevo used to have a list of 60 or more names of players from other clubs on the whiteboard that would be up for discussion and possible trade, and that was before the variable of free trade came in. There are many more discussions that go nowhere, than come to fruition. I've seen deals scuttled at the 11 th hour that looked like certainties. It's not hard to look like you're going too early and as Jaxons appears to be ITK, it's better to take a slightly more conservative route with predictions. Speculation is great for creating interest around this board, when let's face it, there's bugger all else to talk about. Don't get me started about having to endure the Spring Carnival, or crowd misbehaviour ball, otherwise known as soccer. Booooring..........

I think some forget that the Saints are not the only club seeking to improve.

JOM, Prestia, Marchank, Gibbs etc deals all have to land and any or all could affect future StKilda trading.

And for example look at the Doggies, they see to have a lot of players on the move out and in, and not one deal landed as yet!

Fair enough, but when something can be said it usually is.

I don't think we will hear much today, too much dust to settle from the big trades and I dare say nothing will be done until either pick 5 or 6 is in GWS/GCs hands.

Can someone explain to my why we don't want rocky. Apparently Lions will accept a second rounder and will pay up to 25% of his salary. I heard Carlton turned this down but i get where the point of their list is it. But if this is what the lions want, why not do it?
