well we clearly want him, or we would not have done a deal with him to comeSaint_J wrote:Do we really want or need Koby?
Has he done much at the Doggies?
Do we need him? Well, we need all good players so it now just depends on whether he delivers !

OK...
So we really need to pull something out of the bag here.
Steele and Stevens both nominate us....
We have:
10 (1395pts)
47 (316pts)
65 (90 pts)
83 (0pts)
101 (0pts)
Two fifths of very little.
Offer up 65 for Stevens?
47 for Steele? We must have something else cooking as surely that would not get over the line.
Really starting to think we will be giving up 10 for a player and a late first or early second rounder.

GWS & Bulldogs don't actually have much leverage, they need to free up cap space. I'm sure next year's 2nd round pick will get Steele over, and I reckon our Pick 50 should suffice to get Stevens.bigred wrote:OK...

Can't say I'm jumping for joy with Koby.
Will come cheap but pace and kicking are his question marks aren't they? If that's really the case, why go after him?
I will bide my time with this but I just don't quite understand the need for this one.

we are building a team with plenty of inside grunt -- we'll be almost unbeatable on postage -stamp sized ovals.

A bit more midfield Depth. Thought we were pretty lucky with injury this season.St Ick wrote:Can't say I'm jumping for joy with Koby.

As of COB yesterday we have
10 (1395pts)
50 (273pts)
68 (59pts)
86 (0pts)
104 (0pts)
However it is highly likely that pick 10 will slip due to academy picks lets say 12 at 1268pts or 13 at 1212pts.
Remember how our pick 14 slipped to be actually 18 during the call of the draft last year.
Then our late picks actually moved forward.
Without a second round pick so far this year we may need to bring forward some of our 2nd, 3rd or 4th round picks from next year into play.

The fact that he's rejected Essendon to come to us is a positive

Re: Jaxons come on down
Two things concern me, he isn't there for depth - ie VFL playing waiting for an injury, yes would give depth to our midfield but does he just push out a kid? Second thing is it was reported a while ago we offered 450k pa - surely hope not.prwilkinson wrote:A bit more midfield Depth. Re: Jaxons come on down
Maybe they're thinking depth as in for example being able to use Billings more as a forward flank/forward pocket with less minutes in the midfield rotation. Hmm... Just say Steele and Stevens get a game in the starting 22... who misses out? Meatball? Wrighty? Personally... I like Wrighty's grunt work.St Ick wrote:Two things concern me, he isn't there for depth - ie VFL playing waiting for an injury, yes would give depth to our midfield but does he just push out a kid? Hmmm... Not sure how much has been offered. Do we have to pay 100% of our salary cap this season? I'm not really sure how all that stuff works.

Koby Stevens only finished behind five St Kilda players in this year's Brownlow. Same amount of votes as Armo. He's no hack. Depth is everything if we're going to press for finals.

Dogs did not offer him anything. Also evidently the Dons did not either.
I would imagine that we are offering him a fair but not over the top deal and well under $450K.

He didn't poll in the top 10 for the B&F for Dogs.
